Easy Meatball Stuffed Pita Pockets Made With Delicious HOPE Hummus

My guys are meatball fanatics so I look for different ways to give them the flavor they love. While marinara may be the usual meatball pairing, I love the combination of meatballs and HOPE Hummus. My guys were skeptical at first, but now they are huge fans of the combination too!

I have all kinds of ways that I pair hummus and meatballs. I have done amazing flatbreads, calzones, appetizers, salads and more. One of our favorite recipes is that Meatball Stuffed Pita Pocket you see above. It’s a fantastic option for lunch or dinner and is totally open to customization.

Meatball Stuffed Pita Pockets

  • 1 pita - halved and split open
  • 3 - 4 tbsp HOPE Hummus - divided
  • 2 - 3 oz prepared meatballs - mini or halved if larger size
  • cucumber - sliced or chopped
  • cherry tomatoes - halved
  • lettuce or arugula
  • red onion - thinly sliced
  • 1 - 2 tsp olive oil


  • Spread 2- 3 tablespoons of HOPE Hummus into each of the pita pocket halves.
  • Fill the pockets with the meatballs, cucumber, lettuce, tomatoes and onions.
  • Mix the remaining tablespoon of HOPE Hummus with the olive oil and drizzle the mixture over the pita pockets. Enjoy!
