Chili is a pretty standard option for game day, but c’mon… this is the BIG game. Skip the bowl and do something a little more festive. With very little effort, you can serve up a football themed snack that is super hearty and packed with great flavor.
The combination of the Tillamook Cheddar and chili is simple and oh so delicious. Toss in some cut up hot dogs and it’s the easy (and fun) way to elevate the classic chili cheese dog.
Chili Cheese Dog Stuffed Bread Bowls
Ingredients
- 2 cups chili
- 8 oz beef hot dogs - sliced
- 4 oz Tillamook Cheddar or Triple Cheddar Cheese + additional for topping
- red onions
- sour cream
- 12 round bakery rolls
Instructions
- Carefully cut a circle out of the top of each roll. Gently tear away the bread inside the roll to create a vessel to hold the filling. Set aside.
- Heat the chili and sliced hot dogs until warmed.
- Add the Tillamook Cheese and stir until melted.
- Spoon the chili into the prepared bread bowls.
- Sprinkle with red onion and additional Tillamook Cheese.
- Spoon the sour cream into a small zip top bag then snip a corner. Carefully pipe lines of sour cream to resemble football laces.
- Serve and enjoy!
