You know…I miss going out to my favorite restaurants and enjoying a meal followed by a tasty dessert.

It’s OK, we are making the best of things. We still get takeout about once per week but typically just go for the main dish. Appetizers and desserts just don’t usually work as well to-go due to the travel time needed to get the foods back to the house.

Luckily, I have found ways to make some pretty amazing desserts here at home. The best part—they taste great and cost a fraction of what I’d pay at a restaurant.

Publix has just about everything you need to whip up a tasty dessert. While I may not have all the fancy equipment and gadgets that the restaurant folks use, I have found the trick is to get creative and work with what you do have!

Take for example, those fancy dome or bombe desserts. They sell special molds and forms to help folks make pretty desserts that come out quite fancy. But I found that a bowl, a plastic bag and a carton of Breyer’s Ice Cream can become quite the showstopper too!

First, you want to line a small bowl with a plastic bag. The bowl will give you that dome shape and the bag is really just a timesaver that makes it quick and easy to remove the frozen dessert from the mold.

Once your bowl is lined, you simply press slightly softened Breyers Chocolate Ice Cream around the sides and bottom of the bowl. Add a dollop of marshmallow cream and then press some prepared graham cracker crust over the top. The filled bowls go into the freezer to set.

Once frozen, the bags should lift out easily. Then invert the domes onto a rack, peel off the plastic and coat with your chocolate shell. Add additional chocolate chips and marshmallow bits for presentation!

After a quick chill, you are ready to enjoy a dessert that tastes amazing but looks like it came from a fancy restaurant. Grab a spoon and enjoy digging in to reveal all those layers of s’mores goodness!
