Thanksgiving is coming up fast and if you haven’t made a plan for your dessert, I have a super simple idea that is sure to be a hit with your family…my Breyers Turkey & Pilgrim Ice Cream Cups.
I have made these for the boys since they were very little and even though they are teenagers now, I still make them. It’s a fun tradition that I’ll like continue each and every year.
There is no recipe needed for this fun treat. You only need to put your favorite Breyers Ice Cream in a decorated snack cup for the fun turkey cups. Just paint on the face with some permanent markers, hot glue some tail feathers to the lid and you’re all set.
The pilgrim cups have a little extra to them…but–it’s not much work. Just grab a chocolate cookie and top it with an upside down cupcake. You use a little frosting as the “glue” to help the cupcake stay in place. Then, I like to pipe on a buckle with some frosting just to make it look more like a pilgrim hat.
I used to make the cookies and cupcake from scratch and will do it if I have the time. BUT, you can find everything you need for the hat pre-made in the Publix bakery. Perfect for all of us who are short on time around the holidays.
This is also a great option if you have little kids and need a fun craft. The kids can draw their own pilgrim or turkey faces on the cup and make their own treats.
