With finely chopped basil, this sauce has a rich, smooth texture that’s perfect on any of your favorite pasta dishes. I decided that it would be a perfect dinner for my guys with the addition of some shrimp and bacon. Boy was I ever right…my guys devoured the whole bowl of pasta in no time flat. I can always tell when it’s a really good dish when they finish off the bowl and ask if there is more on the stove!

Shrimp & Bacon Pasta Alfredo

Serves: 4 – 6
Ingredients
  • 12 oz pasta, cooked (linguini, angel hair or spaghetti)
  • 3 slices bacon
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jar (15 ounces) Bertolli® Creamy Basil Alfredo Sauce
  • 3/4 cup frozen peas
  • shredded parmesan cheese
  • fresh parsley, if desired
Instructions
  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions, keep warm.
  2. Cook bacon in a large pan until crisp. Remove to a paper lined plate.
  3. Pour off all but about 1 teaspoon of the bacon fat from the pan.
  4. Heat pan to medium and cook shrimp and garlic for 1 minute in the bacon fat until the garlic is fragrant.
  5. Add the jar of Bertolli® Creamy Basil Alfredo Sauce and peas.
  6. Simmer for 5 – 7 minutes until peas are heated through and shrimp is pink and cooked.
  7. Toss the sauce with the pasta and serve topped with parmesan cheese and chopped basil if desired.
