Hot Mulled Apple – Cranberry Cider

This is a hectic time of year for everyone. It can be stressful and the to-do list can seem never-ending. With all the hustle and bustle sometimes the best thing is just to sit down, relax and sip a warm drink. I find it helps me get organized and focus.

There are so many great options when it comes to a hot beverage, one of my all time favorites is apple cider. I have a great recipe that is a kicked up version of a basic cider. You get the delicious sweet and spicy apple cider flavor with a punch of cranberry – it’s such a great combination!

Plus, this recipe uses Equal sweetener in place of sugar. You get delicious taste without those extra calories that you don’t want. That’s important this time of year. After all, any calories you can save will allow you to splurge on those other holiday goodies. We all know there will be plenty of opportunities to indulge this holiday season!

Hot Mulled Apple – Cranberry Cider

Serves: 10 servings
Ingredients
  • 1 quart apple cider
  • 1 cup cranberry juice**
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 2 whole star anise
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons Equal® Spoonful OR 3 packets
  • Equal® sweetener
Instructions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan.
  2. Bring to boiling.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Cover and let stand 8 to 10 minutes.
  5. Strain cider into pitcher or punch bowl.
  6. Garnish with cranberries or apples if desired.
  7. Serve warm.
