florida-orange-juiceI had a couple of you email asking about my smoothie recipe I talked about last week…so I thought I would share the absolute easiest smoothie recipe.  This is one that I love to whip up as part of an after school snack for the boys.  We like ours a bit on the tart side but you can add more sugar if you’d like. I often just toss in whatever fruit I have on hand just to mix it up a bit.  Here’s my recipe for Strawberry Orange Juice Smoothies –

Orange juice isn’t just for breakfast! One 8-ounce serving of orange juice is fat-free and, at 110 calories per 8-ounce glass, has fewer calories than some other commonly consumed 100% fruit juices. My smoothie is packed with great taste and great nutrition but not a lot of calories. It’s so versatile and bursting with flavor. I think it’s a great way to get a boost of energy midday!

Whether you opt to include orange juice as your morning refreshment, in a smoothie or any other delicious recipe, you’ll get great nutrition!

  • One glass of 100% Florida Orange Juice is a nutrient-rich beverage that is a delicious way to complement whole fruit intake to help reach daily fruit intake recommendations, with every 8 ounce glass counting as 1 cup of fruit.
  • An 8-ounce glass of 100% orange juice is an excellent source of vitamin C, providing more than 100% of the Daily Value.
  • An 8-ounce glass of 100% orange juice provides a good source of potassium (473 mg or 14 percent of the Daily Value).

Orange juice is always a great value. We have sales pretty much every week at Publix. The hard part will be deciding which to pick…are you a pulp person or do you grab the pulp free? Pick up a bottle when you shop this week and try out my recipe. Come back and let me know what you think!
