Ricotta Cheese Frosting

Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz GalbaniĀ® Whole Milk Ricotta Cheese - at room temperature
  • 8 oz unsalted butter - softened
  • 4 - 5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch salt

Method
 

  1. Add the butter and ricotta to the bowl of your stand mixer. Beat on high until light and fluffy.
  2. Mix in salt and vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually add the powered sugar a cup at a time until completely combined and the frosting is your preferred consistency. You may or may not need all 5 cups of sugar. If the frosting becomes too thick, add a little cream as needed.
  4. Use to frost your favorite cake or cupcakes.
  5. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
