On busy weeks, sometimes we walk in the door right before game time. Instead of spending a ton of time cooking dinner AND making a bunch of snacks, I whip up a few heavy snacks that we can enjoy as a meal while we kick back and watch the game.

One of the most requested additions to our game day menu is a big batch of Nashville Hot Chicken & Waffle Skewers. Every bite offers up a combination of sweet and savory that tastes absolutely amazing. And you can enjoy one or two as a snack or pile a few on a plate for a hearty and satisfying meal… no fork needed!

While these do pack a kick, it’s not the kind of spice that is overpowering or painful. The addition of the salty Grillo’s Pickles with the sweetness of the syrup really tempers the heat, making for a great flavor combination. In fact, my teenage boys really enjoy this dish, even my oldest who isn’t a big fan of spicy foods.

I love this recipe for the taste and how easy it is to prepare. Just pick up some chicken tender from the Publix Deli, some Publix Waffles and a container of those delicious Grillo’s Pickle Chips. Then you prep your hot sauce and you are in business!

Whip up a batch for game day or just serve up as a quick and delicious breakfast OR dinner! Plus, you can save some moolah on your next purchase at Publix with the digital coupon.
