I absolutely love the holidays. I get the chance to break out my festive decor and celebrate with holiday themed meals and recipes.
I get especially excited when Halloween rolls around because there are so many different ways to bring excitement to mealtime. Whether it’s spooky vampires or kooky pumpkins, a little imagination is all that’s needed to add a little holiday flair to the day.
Take my Mummy Gelato Bites for example. With a few ingredients and a little prep you can create super cute and deliciously tasty treats. Just grab your favorite Talenti Gelato, some white chocolate, coconut oil and sprinkles and you are on your way to a festive treat that kids and adults alike will love!
Gelato Mummy Bites
Ingredients
- Talenti Pacific Coast Pistachio - or your favorite flavor
- 1 cup white chocolate - chopped
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- 1/4 cup white chocolate melting wafers - or white chocolate chips
- candies - for the eyes
- straws/lollipop sticks
Instructions
- Scoop the gelato forming 1" balls and place on parchment paper then freeze until ready to assemble the mummies.
- Place the white chocolate and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl and place in the microwave and heat for 1 minute. Stir and heat in 30 seconds intervals until the chocolate is melted and smooth.
- Dip the tip of each straw/lollipop stick into the melted chocolate, then push into the prepared gelato ball. Repeat with all ice cream balls. Return to freezer for 5 minutes to set.
- Working in small batches, spoon the prepared magic shell over the gelato balls. Return to the freezer to set.
- Melt the chocolate wafers according to package instructions. Allow to cool slightly.
- Drizzle the melted chocolate over the prepared gelato balls, creating the mummy's bandages. Quickly add two eyes before the chocolate sets.
- Store in the freezer until ready to serve.
