When you think about Thanksgiving, you probably think of friends, family and lots of amazing food. And if you are the one doing the cooking, you probably also think about the massive amount of work needed to make all that delicious food too. It can take a lot of time and effort to put together a big holiday spread… but who says it has to be a lot of work?

The turkey breast is really an overlooked gem in the meat department. It’s readily available at Publix all year long so you can grab it whenever you need it. And really, the breast is where you find the majority of the meat on the bird. I’ll admit that I am a dark meat kind of gal, but with the time savings you get by cooking just the breast, I’ll happily eat the white meat instead!

Plus, you can cook exactly what you need—one breast for a family meal or cook multiple breasts for a big family feast. The time really won’t change whether you cook one or three. And then when it’s time to serve, there’s no carving required—just slice and serve!

Putting that tasty dish together is really simple. And I have an easy way to ensure great taste every time… with a little help from Hellmann’s & Knorr!

My stuffing is made with butter to keep the inside of the bird nice and moist. Then the outside is coated in a mixture of Hellmann’s Mayonnaise and new Knorr Zero Salt Bouillon to keep the bird juicy AND add amazing flavor. Prep time is maybe 15 minutes then it bakes up for about an hour for a meal that can’t be beat.

Stuffed Turkey Breast

Ingredients

TURKEY

  • 4 lb boneless turkey breast
  • 1/2 cup Hellmann's Mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp Knorr Zero Salt Bouillon
  • 2 garlic cloves - minced

STUFFING

  • 6 cups bread cubes
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion - chopped
  • 2 celery ribs - chopped
  • 1 - 2 tbsp fresh sage - chopped
  • 1 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1-1/2 - 2 cups chicken broth

Instructions

Stuffing

  • Melt the butter in a skillet and cook the onion and celery for 6 - 8 minutes, until softened.
  • Place bread cubes in a large bowl and add the cooked veggies, all seasonings and then add the chicken broth 1/2 cup at a time, stirring to moisten the bread crumbs. Add enough broth so that the dressing is moist, but not overly soggy.
  • Taste and season with additional salt and pepper as desired.

Turkey

  • Preheat oven to 400 F.
  • Place the turkey breast on a cutting board and butterfly the breast. Cover with plastic wrap or parchment and pound to about 1/4-inch thickness.
  • Place the prepared stuffing down the length of the breast then roll the breast to cover the stuffing, tucking the ends.
  • Tie the stuffed breast with with cooking twine at 1-inch intervals
  • In a small bowl, add the Hellmann's Mayonnaise, Knorr No Salt Bouillon and garlic and mix to combine.
  • Spread the mixture over the wrapped turkey breast and place in a roasting pan.
  • Roast until internal temperature of the turkey breast is 165 degrees F, about 1 hour or 12 to 15 minutes per pound.
  • Let rest for 10 minutes, cut the twice then slice and serve.

As you can see, the dish looks impressive enough for a holiday meal. But, it’s easy enough to serve as a regular weeknight dinner. In fact, it’s requested quite often here, so I generally make it every few weeks. There’s usually enough for a meal, plus some leftovers. If I make enough sides, I can sometimes get enough leftover meat to make a batch of turkey tetrazzini too!

If you are looking for a tasty option for your holiday meal or maybe want something different for your Friendsgiving gathering, skip the whole turkey and try my Stuffed Turkey Breast instead. It tastes AMAZING and you get all the holiday goodness with a fraction of the time and effort that’s needed for the big bird.
