For a lot of people, some fun in the sun and surf is at the top of the vacation to-do list. But the beach isn’t always easily accessible for everyone and when you finally get there, it’s now always what it’s cracked up to be. Between the parking and the crowds, applying sunscreen and the heat, a relaxing day at the beach can turn frustrating in the blink of an eye. And don’t get me started on how hard it is to get rid of that sand once it’s on your clothes and in your bag or tote. I swear I’m still shaking some out from our last trip!
The good news is that you can bring the best parts of the beach home and leave the rest by the wayside with my Tropical Shortcake Sundae. This recipe marries yummy shortcake and vanilla ice cream with an exotic combination of grilled pineapple and toasted coconut for a treat with a taste of the tropics in every bite.
- 6 slices grilled pineapple
- 6 short cake shells
- Breyers Natural Vanilla Ice Cream
- Caramel syrup
- Shredded coconut, toasted
- Place a slice of grilled pineapple on the plate and top with a short cake shell.
- Add a scoop of Breyers Natural Vanilla Ice Cream and drizzle with caramel syrup.
- Sprinkle with toasted coconut and enjoy!
And of course, when it comes to an ice cream recipe, I start with Breyers (Natural Vanilla, in this case). Breyers has been at it for more than 150 years and is a customer favorite to this day for a reason: that rich, creamy taste.
I also appreciate that Breyers is committed to using only the highest quality, most sustainable ingredients. That includes 100% Grade A milk and cream, along with colors and flavors from natural sources.
So, if you can’t get to the beach or the shore this summer, try whipping up this ice cream concoction and enjoy it on a warm, sunny afternoon in the comfort of your outdoor space. You’ll get all the best parts… with no sand in site!
Right now you can load a high value coupon to save on your favorite Breyers Ice Cream or Frozen Dessert. I’d say that’s one more reason to add this tasty treat to your menu ASAP!
Looks tropical delicious !
