You may have already completed your kids’ school supply lists but have you tackled the back to school cleaning list yet? Yes, it’s a thing! At least in my world, it exists.
You see, summer is a time when I let things slide a bit, and I don’t clean quite as often as I should. I like to spend a little more time by the pool instead of indoors vacuuming and dusting. Since the kids are home every day, it’s almost a never ending battle trying to get them to keep things where they are supposed to go…much less keep them clean!
The kids are headed back to school in a few short weeks, which gives me just enough time to get my house back in shape. Once clean, I’ll be able to fall back into my normal cleaning routine and things will run smoothly once again.
Here’s my back to school cleaning list that I plan on accomplishing over the next two weeks…
- Kitchen appliances – Cleaning the outside and inside.
- Mirrors, glass doors and windows – One bottle of Windex® Original Glass Cleaner will easily clean off grime and a summer’s worth of dirt.
- Baseboards – Massive amounts of dust and pet hair love to accumulate here…I may have a new pet by the time I am done! A can of Pledge® Multisurface, a cloth and my music is all that I need to keep me going for a while!
- Lampshades – The dust on these babies look like spiders at this point.
- Curtains & rugs – Both need to be vacuumed as they are full of dust.
- TV’s and other electronics – All need to be dusted. Have you noticed these items are dust magnets…don’t forget about the back. Yes, check the back, and make sure you have a big bottle of Pledge® Multisurface Cleaner if this is the first time you have looked!
- Floors – All of my floors need some major TLC. The dogs and kids have really done a number on them. I think I might have to do a different room every day!
- Dusting – I will break this down and gradually do one room each day. I really let the dusting slide this summer and am paying the price now. That can of Pledge® Multisurface will certainly get a workout in pretty much every single room of my house!

Michelle, you are just too cute. When I read your list, I was thinking “Has Michelle been snooping in my house?” because most of my list is the same. And the dust bunnies.
