School will be in session before you know it. Schedules will be hectic but you can help ease the stress by getting your cleaning routine under control.

Make a list of chores that need to be done each week. Once you have your list you can spread them out over the week, or assign to various family members to complete.

Create an organization station so that you can contain mail, receipts and other loose items until they can be sorted and stored. Plastic bins and containers are perfect to hold a variety of items. If you choose containers with a lid, you can easily close them and put them away if you need them to vanish in a pinch!

To motivate kids to help around the house, try offering rewards for their work. The reward doesn’t always have to be monetary…offer up things they like! Maybe, unloading the dishwasher would yield 10 minutes of game time. While mowing the lawn might yield a larger reward like a friend spending the night or a trip to the ice cream shop. You know your child and their preferences. If you motivate them, you should be able to get lots of help!
