That whole “under a minute” note really grabbed my attention as a way for me to get a meal on the table fast.  But, I think my favorite thing about Straight From The Root products is that you’ll only find one ingredient in all their products—vegetables! Of course taste is ultimately what really matters. Every single veggie that we tried tasted amazing! I am very picky about texture and will NOT eat a mushy veggie. Straight From The Root’s sous vide cooking method involves submerging a BPA- free, vacuum-sealed bag of cut, organic vegetables in heated water to cook them completely. Even cooking them in the microwave isn’t optimal. It’s messy, it takes a while and you then have to deal with uneven cooking. But with Straight From The Root I can have a delicious sweet potato in a flash!

Most cooking methods require vegetables to be cooked at high temperatures causing them to lose up to 30 percent of their nutrients, but Straight From The Root vegetables are cooked at lower temperatures to maintain the best quality, taste and texture without adding anything, ever.

I serve veggies at every meal so I am always interested in trying new options. My boys don’t like everything that I make but I put it on their plates anyway. I read somewhere a long time ago that it takes many attempts for children to like a new food. I have no idea if it’s true or not…but, I do know that if I DON’T serve them then they will never even try! The idea of having a quick and convenient option appeals to me big time. After all, is there anything worse than spending a bunch of time preparing a food only to have it sit on the plate uneaten?!
