Everyone in my house loves breakfast burritos. You start with a good sausage like Farmland Homestyle Breakfast Sausage. Just add the cooked sausage to some scrambled eggs. Then it just a matter of adding your favorite toppings and wrapping it all up in a flour tortilla. Delicious, simple and very easy to prepare…the makings of a perfect breakfast if you ask me!

I try to make at least one “sit-down” breakfast on the weekends. That doesn’t mean I want to spend an hour in the kitchen on Saturday morning! Recipes like this allow me to enjoy a good meal with my guys without a ton of effort. Plus, the added benefit that everyone makes their breakfast exactly how they like it means that there are no grumps at the table. Funny how kids think food is better when they have a hand in the preparation!

Farmland burrito ingredients

Breakfast Burritos With Farmland Homestyle Sausage

Serves: 8 – 10 burritos
Ingredients
  • 12 oz pack of Farmland Homestyle Breakfast Sausage
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 8 eggs
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of pepper
  • 8 – 10 warm flour tortillas
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup cheese, shredded
  • sour cream
  • avocado, sliced
  • tomatoes, chopped
  • cilantro
  • salsa or pico de gallo
  • any additional toppings you might like
Instructions
  1. Cook the Farmland Homestyle Breakfast Sausage in a skillet over medium high heat, crumbling as you cook.
  2. Drain the sausage and set aside.
  3. Wipe out the pan with a paper towel and add the butter to the skillet.
  4. Whisk the eggs and milk with a pinch of salt & pepper.
  5. Scramble the eggs in the skillet over medium heat.
  6. Once the eggs are almost done mix in the crumbled sausage and cook an additional minute to warm the sausage.
  7. Add about 1/4 cup of the egg/sausage mixture to the warmed tortilla.
  8. Sprinkle with the shredded cheese and any other preferred toppings.
  9. Fold the sides in and then roll the burrito.
  10. Serve with any additional toppings such as sour cream, salsa or pico de gallo.
