French Toast with Strawberry Cream Cheese Dip

Ingredients
  

STRAWBERRY CREAM CHEESE DIP
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream - COLD
  • 4 tbsp powdered sugar - divided
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cups fresh strawberries - chopped and divided
  • 4 oz cream cheese - softened
FRENCH TOAST
  • 8 slices KING'S HAWAIIAN Original Hawaiian Sweet Sliced Bread
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • pinch ground cinnamon
  • pinch salt
  • 2 tbsp butter

Method
 

STRAWBERRY CREAM CHEESE DIP
  1. Add the cold heavy cream, 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar and the vanilla to a cold mixing bowl and beat the mixture on high for 2 - 3 minutes, until stiff peaks form.
  2. Mash 1 cup of strawberries and drain any juice.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream the cream cheese and the remaining 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar until combined.
  4. Add the strawberry pulp and mix to combine.
  5. Fold in the prepared whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.
  6. Gently fold in the remaining 1/4 cup of chopped strawberries.
  7. Chill until ready to use.
FRENCH TOAST
  1. In a shallow bowl, add the eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon and salt and whisk to combine.
  2. Dip the Original Hawaiian Sweet Sliced Bread into the egg mixture, two at a time, flipping to coat both sides of the bread in the egg mixture.
  3. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet.
  4. Add the coated bread sliced to the pan and cook over medium heat for 2 - 3 minutes per side until golden brown, flipping once.
  5. Dip the remaining bread into the egg mixture and cook until golden, adding butter to the skillet as needed.
  6. Serve with the prepared strawberry cream cheese dip and/or syrup if desired.
