Teacher appreciation week is big at my house. The boys' schools have already sent out a notice about the celebrations next week and they even try to make it easy for us parents by having themes each day. I can't remember the exact schedule but it looks something like this...
- Monday - Bring a school supply to donate to the classroom
- Tuesday - Make a special card for your teacher
- Wednesday - Bring your teacher a special treat
- Thursday - Bring your teacher a pampering item
- Friday - Bring one flower...when all is said and done it will be part of a bouquet!
The list of items are not extravagant and nothing is super expensive but everything is meaningful. With just a little bit of effort you can let your kiddo's teacher know that you appreciate everything she does each and every day!
If you have the time, why not go above and beyond? Instead of a special treat...consider offering to provide her dinner for her family! I know all you money saving gals out there can put together a meal for next to nothing. This Chicken Pot Pie Recipe is my go to option when I need to take something to a neighbor or friend who needs a meal. You can make it ahead and even freeze it! Prepare it in an aluminum pan and you don't even have to worry about getting your dish back! Print out the recipe with cooking instructions and include it in a nice card and you will make her day—GUARANTEED!
I mean wouldn't you love to get a FREE meal that you simply pop in the oven and bake?
I know something else that a teacher would love to get...a BIG Publix gift card! As a reminder, the folks at Crayola want to reward some very special teachers by giving TEN teachers some FREE Publix gift cards. They are offering up one $250 Publix gift card and nine $100 Publix gift cards. In addition, the ten children who nominate the winning teachers also get a super prize package from Crayola.
