One Reader Wins The Ultimate Grilling Prize Pack From Sahlen’s Hot Dogs…Including A FREE Grill!

This post is sponsored by Sahlen’s. All comments and opinions are my own.

This is the time of year when I start to shift many of my activities so that I can take advantage of our amazing spring weather. The temperatures here in the south will go up, up, up over the next couple of months. So all of my sweaters are packed up and I’ll be living in shorts and flip flops for quite a while.

My wardrobe has changed and so has the way I prepare my meals. Grilling season is here baby!

While many may consider Memorial Day to Labor Day as the prime grilling time, here is the south we have amazing weather that let’s us begin the fun early AND extend our time outside several months longer than that of our northern neighbors. And you better believe I take advantage of every single moment!

Besides the great taste you get, grilling usually means less clean up and you don’t have to heat up your house. Our poor AC units have to work hard enough to keep us comfy when the temps are sky high…why make them work even harder?!

Paired with the fact that those grills offer up enough cooking surface to cook an entire meal at once, who would want to bother messing up a bunch of dishes in the kitchen? Toss on some Sahlen’s Hot Dogs with a couple of ears of corn and then throw on the buns to toast a few minutes before serving. Now that’s my idea of the ultimate meal!

Sahlen's on I Heart PublixSo what are you waiting for? Head into Publix and grab lots of tasty Sahlen’s Hot Dogs and fire up the grill. You’ll have great taste in no time flat. AND…to make it even easier, the folks at Sahlen’s are offering up the ultimate grilling prize pack to one iHeartPublix reader!

That’s right…one reader will get a HUGE prize pack that includes everything needed to start grilling season off right. Check out what comes in the prize pack:

    • We do what we call a hotdog paloosa. We grill hotdogs and have a load of toppings to put on hotdog. Examples are homemade chili, green and yellow onions, tomatoes, shredded lettuce , shredded cheese, sour cream, mango and regular salsa, lettuce, ketchup, mustard, pickles, relish, chips,Doritos ,corn chips, sauerkraut, coleslaw , macaroni and potatoe salads, macaroni and cheese corn, fresh spinach., ranch dressing, melted cheese. We had more tops than this ,there’s so many more many more. Some of the toppings can be used as sides. My family puts in their request plus I add. It’s a lot of fun and the adults love it as much as the kids.

We are simple folk and the Sahlens are so good that we don’t get carried away with the toppings–ketchup, mustard, maybe relish, onions once in a while. Add a side of potato salad, my mom’s recipe of course, and some fresh cut fruit and we have a happy family. That is one of the best Saturdays spent poolside here in Florida!

  165. Had my first Sahlen hot dog last week and O.M.G.!!!!!!!…that’s what a hot dog is supposed to taste like!!! My perfect grilled Sahlen’s Hot Dog meal begins with a grilled Original Smokehouse dog (don’t forget to grill the bun) slathered with coarse-grain mustard and a pile of sauteed onions & kraut. Homemade potato salad and deviled eggs on the side…some baconated baked beans…finish with a scoop of vanilla ice cream astride a slice of fresh-from-the-oven pecan pie. Just this side of heaven.

  169. I am originally from Buffalo, New York. I now live in Atlanta, Georgia. I was stunned when I saw them on the shelf at Publix. I posted this to all my friend that live in Atlanta that once lived in the WNY area. These are my favorite hot dogs of all time. Great times with my family going to Ted’s grill. My father loved the red hots. He passed away but last year. I sure miss him.
