  3. I use lots of healthy convenience foods such as bag salads, frozen veggies and Vee Tee rice. We like the basmati rice best. Then we throw some protein like fish or chicken on the grill.

  6. A rotisserie chicken makes dinner so easy. I can add some to a bag of salad, makes some rice and veggies. I can really do anything I want and still have leftover chicken

  25. When I make soup or chili I make a lot more than we will eat. I portion out the leftovers and freeze them… Just need to reheat for a quick meal!

  29. Just found this site again after years of not couponing. I am in love with it already. Can’t wait to see how much money you can save me. We just bought a small place at the lake and this rice would be a quick fix coming off the water and fixing something quick.

  31. These Veetee rice containers would definitely be helpful for quick meals i also like having frozen veggies in hand and will sometimes make more of an item then needed like I’ll make four sweet potatoes and stick three in the fridge for different recipes during the week.

  37. I am with you…even though we hit 101 in Florida today.
    Tooo hot for kitchen.
    I pick up a delicious rotisserie Publix roast chicken once a week or so. Two meals for us! Love that.
    Add veggies and potatoe or rice. Done.
    Or,
    Grill
    Or, in an hour using my new pressure cooker I can go from frozen to dinner.
    Or, my crockpot!
    And, Sunday making dinner double batches..freeze one eat one.

  39. I freeze leftovers from bigger meals so they can be thawed and reheated. We utilize a lot of leftovers in my home to reduce food waste.
    Also my instant pot has become a complete game changer. I pressure cook so many things now!

  51. I’m the opposite – I hate summer. It’s been so hot the last two weeks, and summer hasn’t even officially started yet. This heat is miserable.

  54. Summer is great for grilling! Grilling outside prevents heat from the oven. Using already cooked rice heated in the microwave makes dinner a win-win.
