Slow Cooker Gumbo

  • 1 box Jambalaya Girl Gumbo
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 14.5 ounce can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into chunks
  • 13 oz Kiolbassa smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 cup frozen oka
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined (thawed if frozen)
  • 3 cups cooked rice
  1. Add Jambalaya Girl Gumbo mix, chicken broth, water, bell pepper onion, celery, tomatoes, chicken thighs, Kiolbassa Sausage and okra to the slow cooker and mix to combine.
  2. Cook on low for 6 hours.
  3. minutes before serving, add the shrimp to the pot and stir to combine.
  4. Cover and cook an additional 5 minutes or until shrimp are opaque and cooked through.
  5. Serve over cooked rice.
