If you have kids, you are probably extremely familiar with fish sticks and chicken nuggets.

While these foods are popular with the kiddos, often the ingredient list on these foods can be long and impossible to pronounce. So what if I told you that you can give your kids the taste they love without all the junk?

It’s true, with just a little effort and a few ingredients, you can serve up a batch of delicious Air Fryer Fish Sticks. My recipe is made with just 4 main ingredients plus a few seasonings! Plus, it’s incredibly simple to prepare. In fact, you can have homemade fish sticks (or chicken nuggets) in about the same amount of time as their frozen counterparts.

The key to my recipe is Hellmann’s Mayonnaise. The mayonnaise helps the breading stick and keeps the fish super moist. You end up with fish sticks that are crispy, flaky and so flavorful!

Simply preheat your air fryer and set up your breading station. Place about 3/4 cup of Hellmann’s Mayonnaise in one bowl and add breadcrumbs, salt, pepper and some garlic powder to another bowl.

Dip the fish strips into the mayonnaise first. Then dip that coated fish in the breadcrumb mixture and you are ready to go.

I like to use my air fryer as it cooks up the fish in a flash. If you don’t have an air fryer, just spray a sheet pan with a little cooking spray, add the prepared fish and then spray with a little more cooking oil. Place in a 400º oven and bake for 20 – 22 minutes, or until golden (turning once).

Serve those crispy, crunchy super tasty fish stick with ketchup… or for a little kick you can serve with some Hellmann’s Spicy Mayonnaise.

Head into Publix and get everything you need to serve up these delicious fish sticks. You can even save some money when you shop. Look for several Hellmann’s products on sale as part of the current Extra Savings Flyer.

Stock up while you can grab a deal and whip up some homemade fish sticks the next time your family is hankering for a tasty meal.

  • 3/4 cup Hellmann's Mayonnaise
  • 1 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • cooking spray

Instructions

  • Set the air fryer to 400º and preheat for 4 minutes.
  • Create a dreading station by adding the Hellmann's Mayonnaise to one bowl and the breadcrumbs, salt, pepper and garlic powder to another bowl.
  • Dredge the fish strip into the mayonnaise and then dredge through the breadcrumb mixture, pressing to coat the fish entirely. Set aside on a parchment paper and repeat the process with all fish strips.
  • Spray the air fryer basket with a little cooking spray, arrange half of the prepared fish leaving space between each - do not overcrowd the basket. Cook for 5 minutes at 400º, flip and cook another 5 minutes. Repeat with the 2nd half.
  • Serve with ketchup or Hellmann's Spicy Mayonnaise.
