Welcome to this week’s Try Me Tuesday. I took a little hiatus as the holiday are just so hectic and it gets a bit hard to keep up with everything. My resolution was to get back on track… which means the Try Me Tuesday is back. The boys were very excited as this week they got a little treat!
As a reminder…each week I will grab a new set of products and test them out. I’ll put the Publix brand up against a national brand product and report back.
I know many times I struggle with what brand to choose. Often a sale or a coupon/sale combination make that an easier decision…but what about those times when you need an item and there is not a sale? Do you grab the house brand or pay more and get the national brand? More importantly, is there really a difference in taste?
This week we tried Publix Sugar Free Popsicles.

- Publix – 3
- Popsicle – 1
Publix was the winner of the taste test as everyone seemed to note that the pops just had better flavor. My husband said that the Publix brand had a better texture. He thought the Publix was a smoother popsicle…while the name brand was more like flavored ice (kinda like a snow cone.)
The boys just like popsicles and really just didn’t care–they love anything cold that’s sweet 😉 They will happily have them for dessert over the next few weeks!
Personally, I have never been a fan of popsicles. I thought they were both just too sweet but I did choose the Publix brand as the better tasting one in the blind taste test. Honestly…they smelled better than they tasted–tee hee!
If you have popsicle fans I think you will enjoy either but you might want to save a little moolah and opt for the Publix brand. My crew says that they beat the nation brand this week!
Have you guys put these two to the test? What were the results at your house?
