Happy Friday everyone. It’s been a rainy ugly day here in Atlanta but I can’t complain as the rest of the week was beautiful. Jake had baseball practice/games this week and the weather really was perfect. I think the rain is supposed to clear up for the weekend. I really hope it does as this is the first time in quite a while we don’t have a long list of thing to do! I hope to relax a bit and get my house organized a bit.
As far as shopping this week, I did a nice big trip at Publix. I knew it was going to be a fairly big trip. Typically, shopping early is usually a good time. The store is not as crowded as if I were to wait until the afternoon. For some reason my store was hopping when I shopped. I had a bad feeling about checkout…and sure enough it was not the most fun I have ever had. Mrs Bonnie (my favorite cashier) is a doll. She has been at my store for years and is kind and patient with all of my coupons. At checkout, I try to give people a heads up that I will be using coupons so they can choose to wait or move to another register.
Apparently the woman behind me cared more than she thought. It might have taken 5 – 6 minutes for Mrs. Bonnie to scan my coupons. In that amount of time the woman behind me must have made at least 25 rude comments. She even got the woman behind her in on the action as well. Now guys, I have developed a pretty tough skin over the past few years. I have dealt with all kinds of rude folks and can typically just ignore them without a second though. This week I must have been in a bad mood as the gals behind me really got to me and I felt my face getting hot. It took everything in me to not turn around and give them a piece of my mind. Instead, I smiled at them –BUT DID NOT APOLOGIZE FOR ANYTHING! Once Mrs Bonnie had finished…I smiled, thanked her for her patience and very loudly noted that I saved almost $150 in about 5 minutes (coupons and smart shopping)! I then turned to those women, smirked my best smirk and watched their jaw drop. I told them to have a great day and walked out with my head held high.
Yes…it has just been that kind of week.
