This is my favorite penny item, so I will stop by the store after I drop the boys off for school. You just can’t beat getting almost free TP!
The Publix mystery item coupon is valid for one day only – the day your ad begins (either Wednesday or Thursday). The actual coupon can be found in your local newspaper on your penny item day!

Why does Publix in Florida not participate in the Penny Item? Seniors here need every bit of all saving deals. What a shame!
When Publix expanded into other states, they started the penny coupon in Sunday’s paper as a marketing tool to get people into the stores every Sunday. It was brilliant move. Today Publix and Kroger are virtually tied in grocery dollar shares in Atlanta, for example. The result of such a bold marketing move is they can’t stop it. It will never appear in Florida because they don’t need it there. They already are the dominant grocery in the state.
Is there anyone way of knowing nexts weeks item? Apparently my store is a week a ahead of what you state. It’s been this way for the last month or more. What you say is the item is what we had the week prior. :/

Where in the newspaper is the penny coupon located? I just started getting the paper, but don’t know where to look to find it! Is it actually printed in the news section of the paper, or would it be with the ads and coupons? It might be different in different newspapers, I suppose. Thanks for you help!!
