Alrighty guys I have received over 10 emails with the exact same policy and picture so I am thinking it is safe to say that the following is the official Publix coupon policy!
Publix accepts maufacturer’s coupons (limit one per item), Publix coupons (originals only-no copies), valid Internet coupons, and coupons from nearby competitors identified by each Publix store. (Competitor names are posted at each Publix store.) We will accept coupons from competing pharmacies for prescriptions only. We will not accept percent-off-items or percent-off-total-order coupons. We will only accept coupons for identical merchandise we sell. Acceptance is subject to any restrictions on the coupon, and we reserve the right to limit quantities. Manager approval is needed for individual coupons above $5.00. For a buy-one-get-one free (BOGO) offer, each item is considered a separate sale. We will accept a manufacturer’s coupon and either a Publix or a competitor coupon on the same item. Dollars-off-total-order coupons will be limited to one Publix and one competitor coupon per order. The order total must be equal to or greater than the total purchase requirements indicated on the coupon(s) presented.
Each store will have a posted list of competitors so be sure and ask at your store in case there have been modifications since your last visit!
I think this is a great policy and honestly not anything new for me! Feel free to discuss in the comments :D
Thanks to Michelle, Jean, Christy, Tonya, Sean, Jenni, Lisa, Bev, Christy, LDM and anyone I may have missed!
Well that was weird, I just called my Publix to ask what manufacture coupons they accept, and the manager said he can’t give out any information at this time over the phone, and that they will be handing out a new policy on Saturday. I said “okay, well I was gonna come in tonight, just wanted to make sure you still accepted Target?” and he said “Saturday. I can’t say right now.” WOW. What is that??
I mean competitor! Not manufacturer.
Haha… They told us not to release any information until the 14th, but then also sent us an email a couple days ago that told us the media is aware of the policy and that we should expect inquiries from customers. They didn’t really say what we could and couldn’t talk about. I don’t think it’s a big deal.. just gives you a head start :)
A head start on what? I just wanted to know if they accept Target coupons tonight since I’m going shopping and have a couple Morningstar Farms coupons to use, and he couldn’t even tell me that.
Publix will lose business – in fact, significant business because consumers like me will be shopping elsewhere for deals. Superwalmart and Target will be getting my business going forward. I don’t have to go to Publix to get my oreos. Let’s face it…Publix is expensive. The only way I could afford shopping there was because of the competitor coupons and the BOGOs. The Hunter’s Creek Publix has identified Sedanos and Target as competitors. What a joke. Sedanos never has coupons! This new so called policy change is being mentioned all over the news. I can tell you that most of the people submitting comments are NOT happy campers. Publix said they wanted a consistent across the board policy. Not true. Each Publix still has the discretion of identifying who they are their competitors. BJ’s and Costco are no longer considered competitors. Well guess what Publix…they are competitors. BJs accepts manu coupons (you can use more than one on one package). Both BJs and Costco have deli, meat, bakery, etc. Therefore, they should be considered competitors.
Correct me if I am wrong but Costco does not accept Manf coupons. They only accept their own coupons.
Bye, Boo! When Publix requires a MEMBERSHIP and sells their items in BULK, I will consider them a competitor. Until then, I hope that Super Wal-Mart and Target consider BJ’s and Costco to be competitors!
OK, I have truly had enough of some of you idiots. I work at Publix, and you know what? Half of you guys have no idea what the heck you are talking about. For the ethical, honest couponers, thank you. Thank you for being honest about what you do and for being nice to us cashiers. I have some points for you morons who have no clue as to the real nature of coupons.
1. BJ’s has never and WILL NEVER be a competitor. It is a wholesale club, not a grocery store. So for all you selfish people that come in to buy a $1 pack of gum with a $3 coupon, you tell me how that is ethical. I call that stealing.
2. Publix SHOULD care about being reimbursed for coupons because that is money out of our pockets, MY POCKET, whenever you come in and use competitor coupons. We do not get competitor’s coupon’s worth back. So for the idiot who said “Why should Publix care?” umm…it’s coming out of our paychecks, sweetheart.
3. Stop posting what your store does unless you give the full location of where it is. Florida has not doubled in many years, and when you all come on and say that, I then have to deal with the people who now think that’s ok.
4. Whoever leaked this picture and information in the first place should lose their job. We were not allowed to even speak about this policy until Saturday, yet hours after I get trained on it it’s suddenly on the internet?
5. Cashiers should be instructed to ask for coupons ahead of time in order to match up everything with each item you are purchasing. We do this because there are dishonest people who come to shop, hand us coupons for things they did not buy, and expect us to take them. No, sir. You give them to us up front and we will scan them after every item. People are also known to get something for free, return it the next day, and get their money back for it because it wasn’t shown how much they actually paid for it on their receipt when all of the coupons are at the end. For those who are annoyed by this, you have the dishonest thieves to thank for it.
So in conclusion, I want you all to know I am tired of being yelled at, disrespected, and treated like an idiot during your transactions. For those who have never treated a cashier badly over $.50, God bless you. For the rest of you, go shop at Wal-Mart, they miss you.
Great post! I completely agree with you.
I agree! Too many people were just using coupons and being scammers wanting Publix to take coupons they shouldnt take. Wake up people.
Great post and I agreed completely.
Hear hear!
As an honest couponer, I’m tired of having cashiers wince when they see my stack of coupons. Publix has been nothing more than over-accommodating and I have appreciated them every time I go to shop there. Couponing has saved me SO much money even without competitor coupons; to be able to use those has been an absolute blessing.
When it comes down to it, what I see here hasn’t really changed much from the coupon policy as I understood it at our local stores. Three different stores would have three different things to say about who is and isn’t a competitor- one store considered Walgreens and CVS to be competitors because one shared the parking lot with them and the other was right across the street. The second Publix store was hit-or-miss, depended on who you spoke to (CS reps would usually take them but newbie cashiers generally would just turn them down- I always ASKED, never demanded!) and the third just flat-out did not accept either of those as competitors.
So really, it seems as though nothing is changing with the way our local stores have been accepting coupons, I’ll continue to be able to save money and get great deals. I’m so happy to be able to actually pay my bills and still be able to eat well instead of just eating ramen all the time. :)
Hang in there =D I love my Publix people. They have always been helpful, friendly, and patient. I use coupons to make the most of my budget, and I am relieved to see them be so patient with me. Good Luck over the next couple weeks while this plays out.
Thank you, Erin! :) We love people like you too!
Same here Erin. Publix always treats me so great. While prices are going up – i still find i love the customer service over any other store and i can still save more there. I will admit WD is attempting to have great Customer SVC but their prices are still just too overwhelming to shop there very often.
Out of my hundreds of Publix trips, i’ve only encountered ONE not so happy wonderful Cashier.
I normally do not reply to any post on here. But the above comment really got under my skin.
I do agree with you regarding dishonest people who return free items and try to scam Publix.
As for Publix accepting Manufacturer coupons and Competitor coupons and loosing money which is coming out of your pocket, I highly doubt that is the case. However, I will give you the benefit of the doubt, and if that is the case, then Publix should not accept coupons. But you can’t make a policy to accept and then get upset when people want to use coupons.
It is obvious, there strategy is to get you in the store to spent the money, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that and apparently is working.
In Florida, Publix has no competition and your raise was not reduced because of the additional Competitor coupons that Publix received.
FYI, be careful what you wish for, sending people to sop at Walmart, might just put Publix out of business (ha ha) and you might end up working for Walmart yourself.
Oh, and name calling (idiots and morons) will never get you promoted to management, which I have heard receive some pretty darn big bonuses (must be all those coupons) :)
For the past 2 years, since the “economic downturn” associates have only been given $.15 raises, now that we are not throwing away $25 million a year in competitor coupons maybe we can get decent raises. We have done alot for our customers and some keep wanting more and more and more, and still some complain all the time. They can be verbally abusive, clean a whole shelf off of product so that no one else has a chance at it, steal all the advantage buy fliers the day they come out to sell the coupons on ebay, leave a cart full of groceries in a check out line if you wont take a $1 coupon from Lowe’s (please show me our lumber section?) Most are nice, but the people who threaten to leave because we wont “eat” the loss of $40-$50 bucks in competitor coupons on your order. You are costing us more money then you are bringing us in. We might lose some customers on somethings, but in the end, if someone is giving you $5 for a cart of groceries (and $100 of that was target or walgreens coupons) they are not helping us make profit anyway. I am glad they finally got some kind of spine. Things were completely out of hand.
Hi Lowly – things are still getting out of hand. i wish people would stop swiping your shelves….. or shelves at ANY STORE!! i’d like to buy my family one set of soap with out fighting for it.
lol
I like your post. seems logical, calm and collected.
I suppose this is an official policy discussion by Publix?
:::: Applause ::::
Thank you from a satisfied Publix customer.
By the way, I do give the cashier my coupons at the beginning of the transaction. To me, that is just common sense and makes things easier for both of us.
Amen Publix cashier lady! =}
gosh last time i recall FL did double coupon days was when i was a kid. My mom and i use to hit that day up EVERY WEEK – wahoo double coupon day! it hasnt existed since i was probably 12 years old (i’m in my late 30’s now).
But when i was a child – BOGO was not even in process yet so it kind of all evens out now. while i miss DOUBLE Q days – at least now we have BOGO deals we can match two manu Q’s with (and possibly two Store Q’s). That’s a great trade off if you ask me!
YOUR A BITCH! You must be a single woman who just has cats at home with her! Until you have children you will never understand the importance of a “good deal”, shame on you!
Woah there honey-as a couponer and a retail worker I’ve seen every scenario in the book coupon wise and I think this Publix move is going to be a “good deal” for everyone-I actually like being able to buy a product off my shelf and not have to get rainchecks and I think taking a competitors coupon is a kind gesture from a store so if they decide to limit it it’s not that big of a deal.
But the use of profanity regarding any type of deal is uncalled for-especially if you have children. Please be kind not only to your fellow couponers but also your cashiers-it will make getting your “good deals” easier :)
I went to my local st cloud store today. They said no more BJ’S AND NO MORE $5.00 SAVE A LOT coupons. That stinks
That doesnt stink. Bj’s coupons should never be allowed to use at a grocery store unless you are getting the same exact item with same exact quanity but Im sure your not. Bj’s coupons are for bulk items that Publix dont carry its people that try to pull off stuff like that for the policy change. Its not rocket science people.
Thank you, Angie! :)I’m glad some people still have a conscience about this!
Again i state i am so SO thankful Publix is no longer accepting BJ’s coupons. There’s just NO honesty or loyalty to the coupon world from those who were using BJ coupons (bulk coupons) at Publix.
It seems so fraudalent!
A friend of mine’s wife was using BJ Q’s at Publix and it burned me up. I always told him i understood she was a newbie and that at her point she had become addicted to the savings but its not an honest way of being a couponer and i wished she would stop.
now she has no choice!
Just to be clear for everyone, BJ coupons will still be accepted (As of my coupon training). If the coupons say “In-Club Manufacturer” then we will be taking it because we have been told that we do indeed get the money back on those items, as they are manufacturer coupons.
Also, I agree with ‘Publix Cashier’ on their statement, except I am one of the people giving out info before hand =p. Truthfully, it doesn’t matter when the information gets out, either way it’s going to come out. However, what they did say is true, the competitor coupons do hurt Publix a lot, that’s why we care. Hours have been cut WAY back, and we hardly ever have enough help anymore, that’s because we are losing a lot of money. Guess what our raises consist of. It used to be a 25cent raise every 6 months (BIG MONEY!), now it’s 15cents… It’s all because of Publix losing money through coupons.
Also, to those couponers that know who they are, don’t destroy merchandise to get your deals. We ran out of M&Ms during that one big BJs coupon so they went to the variety packs and ripped them open to get those M&Ms. Those are meant to be sold as 1 big package, not the small ones inside.
Like I said, don’t say what your policy is unless you state your full location. I have been instructed to no longer take BJ’s.
Thanks for your comments. I definitely agree that there are coupon abusers out there (not on this site tho!! :) ), and find the practice simply shameful. I am thrilled that Publix has created a documented, corporate policy. Hopefully, this will create more peace and harmony for the couponers, and for the Publix employees. It is unfortunate that your raises are decreasing in value, especially when Publix is showing an increase in sales, earnings and stock prices (see link). Coupons usage is definitely not hurting the growth of Publix :)
Ooops..here’s the link:
http://www.publix.com/about/newsroom/NewsReleaseItem.do?newsReleaseItemPK=4856
Nice post…it shut up the posters(publix losing money) for a month :-)
Hey i just have one comment about raises –
ATLEAST you are getting one. and on that note i work for a corporation that gives out annual merit increases and most of us only get about 40 cents a year. While that seems petty and hardly much more than your 30 cent annual raise – at least its a raise.
Understand that while the economy is hurting you – its hurting everyone. We all just have to bare through this regardless of whether you get a 50 cent raise or a 30 cent raise.
Dont complain. A job is a job.
AMEN!!! I am a mother of 2 and was laid off over 4 years ago. Still struggling to get by, my husband is so stressed. Be thankful to have a job! When you can’t get hired anywhere because you’re not straight out of highschool and have experience (they don’t want to pay more for that!) …it just flat out sucks!
…so lpease, no complaining about not getting a raise…I can barely feed my kids!
Well from what I was told it’s not just my store, it’s the division, which is Lakeland.
Ok well I am Jacksonville Division. Everyone needs to talk to their home store and see what the deal is. It’s going to cause so many problems with people coming on here and reading conflicting reports. The same policy was distributed over the state, I don’t see how there are different interpretations.
well to sum up my situation – i am in Orlando and neither of the publix stores i shop at accept ANY BJ Q’s – AT ALL.
I am not happy with the changes my Publix is making. They are taking The Fresh Market as a competitor, but not Whole Foods. Whole foods is in the same plaza as Fresh Market!!! How is one a competitor and the other not??? Also not taking Sweetbay, which is right now the street from them!! Makes no sense to me :O(
This sounds great to me as well! And for people that work at Publix posting comments I dont believe they are losing money from coupons there are probably many other factors because I now only shop there because of the great coupon policy and I buy plenty of things without coupons, I dont understand why some cashiers are so mean about it we are CUSTOMERS and you need to treat us like any other customer to keep us coming back! Coupon abusers need to go away I agreed I only buy what we use but I have a family of 7 and a husband who was laid off so I have to cut coupons and I dont want to be made to feel like I am ripping anyone off!
Agreed! The people who are not using the coupons right need to go away. But also the cashiers who treat EVERYONE who uses coupons like theives should be aware that they economy sucks and not everyone has a job. I cannot tell you the countless times I have been giving a dirty look for using coupons.
Read the press release above they are not losing any money but making it!
I agree with the cashier that we are no longer taking Bjs coupons. At my location we take Target, Winn Dixie and Save a lot. I have been with the company 20 plus years and this coupon policy is the way it use to be back when I started. I get so sick of people leaking things to the public before we are suppose to. This person should lose their job. If they can’t keep their mouth shut about this what else are they telling people. Those Bj people pack up your coupons and your card and start shopping there. I am tired of my retirement going down because we aren’t getting paid for those coupons.
I AM SO GLAD THEY ARE NOT ACCEPTING BJ’s coupons anymore. I know its SAVING families money or was but to be honest i felt this was not an ethical way of couponing. It was just flat out wrong. I knew someone who was doing this and it BURNED ME UP.
Hi Everyone, coupons are beyond helpful, especially during these tough economic times. I love shopping at Publix, never had a bad experience there. When I felt I was wronged I simply spoke to the Manager that quickly resolved the issue. I really began using coupons that I am able to continue to shop at Publix for the service. I save an average of 74% of my groceries, you may save more at Wal-Mart, but I won’t trade the experience of that. I recently wrote to Publix with a question, their office responded within a day via email and the local manager called asking if I need any further clarification.
I agree the “Cashier”, I’ve been behind people that are the core already dishonest people. I take time to plan out and clip the coupons I use so that I am in and out quick. As for the double or triple coupons stores not in Florida provide, well they do that at a loss to them.
Publix is a private company that can demand or create any rule it wants with coupons. It is not your “right” to demand anything. Want to make your mark then, shop elsewhere. I prefer less crowded aisles.
I do have one point of contention. I use coupons honestly, they way the directions on each coupon provides. What I will not allow is a convenient interpretation the cashier at times provides depending if they had lunch or not. The above “Publix Cashier” says “So for all you selfish people that come in to buy a $1 pack of gum with a $3 coupon, you tell me how that is ethical. I call that stealing.” Luuucccy you have some essplaining to dooo..
How is that stealing? Do you not understand that Publix will earn 8 cents on top of the coupon value for shipping and handling?
Publix has chosen to discount the item to $1. The manufacture has decided to provide me, the consumer, with a form of payment worth $3. Publix can mark down the coupon, but if it does not, it can redeem it for cash value PLUS 8 cents from the manufacture.
Recently the Bic razors were BOGO, final cost was $5.49 for both. I was given a $3 off EACH by the manufacture because I PURCHASED the Sunday paper (also what do you care if I got 20 papers, they were all bought with money I earned by working). Both items cost $5.49 for 2, I had coupons totaling $6 off 2. I earn 50 cents minus tax. This is stealing how? Why do I need 20 packs of razors? Great question, WHY DO YOU CARE? Actually I donated all of them plus extra to military care packages for the heroes that protect us.
I can appreciate your concerns and irritations, but you don’t need great argument rendered useless because you act childish with name calling.
That cashier was talking about taking BJs coupons if you read his/her post correctly. They put out coupons designed for bulk items, and the poster was referring to using a $3 BJs coupon designed for a multi-pack of gum on a single individual pack.
Thank you FL Girl, and most of the BJ’s are competitors coupons, Airton, and we are not reimbursed for those.I was not speaking of the coupons you get in your paper, I use those too. But when you purposefully use wholesale club coupons in a regular grocery store your ticket goes into the negative. I have had to pay people to leave the store. That’s wrong. So before you condemn my “childishness with name calling”, Airton, please be aware of what you are talking about first.
Actually, what you wrote only makes mention of BJ’s in the beginning. Which would force me assume you were still indirectly speaking of a BJ specific coupon. I’m not one to make assumptions, I think we all know why…
You guys crack me up. Its why our couponing world is going to crapville. stop arguing and start understanding each other.
BJ coupons or any wholesale coupons being used in a regular store such as Publix was a terrible way of ripping off the store. I always hated seeing certain couponers using the BJ’s coupons in Publix. I always knew it was a ‘fraudalent’ way to save money.
i’m an honest couponer and i have been since my mother taught me how to be one as a young teenager.
It’s gotten so out of hand lately that i’ve almost become ill watching it.
If you are hoarding for the military – great.
If you are hoarding to clear shelves and stock your basement for 20 years. NOT GREAT.
I commend those who donate their stockpiles. that’s fantastic.
I loathe those who clear shelves just because they can.
It’s pretty basic.
LEAVE SOME FOR OTHER FAMILIES TOO. we are also in need.
Anyway – i hope everyone has a happy day – and happy couponing!
stop the coupon arguments!
I will no longer be shopping at my Publix in Cape Haze FL after today. I was told by the front end cashier I could use my manufacture check and a coupon together because one is a coupon and the other is a check. Once I got to the line the cashier treated me like garbage for using coupons and gave me such an attitude. I was told by her I couldn’t do that and was talked to like a child. I went out of my way to check first before doing it and they still treated me like a thief. My advice is just stay out of these stores if they are going to treat us all like thieves. Publix: where shopping USED to be a pleasure!!
You can not hold the stores reputation hostage for the experience you had with a cashier. Grow up and advocate for yourself and ask for a manager. Not every cashier will be pleasant of knowledgable regarding coupons. Do what I do- find a few cashiers you like that are sweet and cooperative and go to their line, if there is a problem ask for help. Sounds to me like you let the attitude of one cashier make decisions for you- Take your POWER back! : )
I’m going to agree with Shawnee here. while i dont shop at Walmart anymore, when i USE TO shop there all my cashiers were rude but while at any of my Publix stores i’ve only encountered ONE rude cashier out of hundreds of visits. IT DOES HAPPEN. There are cashiers having bad days or just dont know how to represent Publix correctly so do yourself a favor and go back to Publix and complain to the manager. It only takes one complaint for a Publix Cashier to change his/her attitude – or leave!
Anyone have Save-A-Lot as a competitor, and if so, what matchups do you look for?
Anyone inquire yet about the policy concerning the Yellow and Green Fliers/Ads that Publix puts out that state 1 coupon per person?
If it says 1 coupon per person, then it’s just that. ONE per person.
If it’s one per person, you’ll just need to use any more of that coupon in different transactions. Hope that helps! :)
my manager states 1 per customer,i explained he coupon did not state that (green flyer) and he told me he recievd an email from his boss stating 1 not 1 per transaction but 1
I just came from my local store(E. Bradenton, Fl @ SR64 & Lakewood Ranch Blvd) and was surprised to see that they have listed as their competitor Fresh Market along with Sweetbay. Those are the only two they accept now. Sweetbay is only 3 mi. away and makes sense but Fresh Market is over 10 mi., doesn’t sell much in the way of comparable groceries and you have to drive right past a Super Target to get there. I can’t say I’ve ever seen a coupon from Fresh Market. I don’t get it.
Publix in Orlando, FL on Landstar Blvd. accepts Sedano’s and Winn-Dixie. Hunter’s Creek location on Orange Blossom Trail accepts Sedano’s and Target. Lake Nona location on Narcoossee Road will accept Winn-Dixie.
Hey Megan i live near UCF and the two publix stores i shop at both accept: Target, Sedano, and WD coupons.
I hope that doesnt change! I love using my $5 off $55 WD coupon at Publix!
I just called 3 of my local Publix stores (Tallahassee, FL) all 3 listed the same competitors
Earth Fair
Fresh Market
Winn Dixie
Harvey’s
The 3 stores were:
Southwood, Lake Ella and Crawfordville Hwy
I am so bummed…no more Target :(
Hi, I love the one on Blairstone (Gov Crossing) but they are not even taking Harvey’s, just the other three (according to the sign newly posted). This will definitely be challenging, without Target and Harvey’s the others either rarely have coupons or they don’t even carry the same brands/products!
Was waiting for a copy of the coupon policy at my local Publix when I looked over at the newspaper section and a lady is standing there ripping the plastic coupon section out of a newspaper open and just taking it and leaving it there for the next person to buy without coupons. what??? I told the manager b/c people like that are nothing but thieves. I’m sick of going to buy a paper and the coupon section is ripped open. Buy a paper!!
Also, if anyone is in Port St. Lucie, FL, the Veranda Falls Publix on Becker Rd. is taking Target, Albertsons and Winn-Dixie as competitor coupons according to their policy which they have copies available at each register :)
Hey jill do yourself a favor and save by subscribing to your local paper for ONLY SUNDAYS. you will save yourself more. I pay 80 cents for my sunday paper to be thrown on my driveway versus the 1.50 i think it is in the stores???
Hoarders do exist, every where we go. Isnt it totally sad? it makes me sick to my stomach to watch these people steal coupons, dip in garbage cans, steal papers from driveways and stockpile for a depression leaving us with nothing on the shelves.
happy couponing! enjoy it if you still can!
Just to show how policy can vary – in Atlanta you can split a BOGO purchase and just buy one item for half price. In Lakeland division you have to buy two items for BOGO deals. In Atlanta they said that they have to do that because of the competition there. Happy Couponing.
So upset by this because this means my Publix here in Jacksonville, Florida will not take Target coupons even though they carry a lot of the same products and are not even 2 miles away from each other. and here in Florida No One doubles any coupon.
use your target coupons at walmart. They accept manufacturer and competitor coupons as well and we match Publix’s ad (including BOGOS) their prices are already cheaper so they actually end up having better deals.
Hey Paula my walmart never accepts my print at home coupons. They refuse almost every time when i attempt to use them at Walmart therefore i quit going months and months ago. I find i am a happier person without Walmart in my life.
They might match prices but they arent taking my Q’s and 80% of mine are print at home! Its frustrating!
I’m new to couponing and was wondering if someone could help me out w/ some clarification. I see it says you can only use 1 manufacturer coupon per item. Does this mean if i have a coupon from the paper for 50 cents off an item, and a coupon that i printed offline for $1 off the same item, i cannot use both coupons?
What about if i have a coupon from the paper that says 50 cents off when you buy 2 of something, and one that i printed offline for 35 cents off two of the same thing. Can i use both since i am getting 2 items? or since 1 coupon counts towards both items, can in only use 1 of them?
@Lindsey – It is one manufacturer coupon and one store coupon per item. The store coupon can be a Publix store coupon or a competitor store coupon (not both). It doesn’t matter where you get the coupons (newspaper or online), you jsut have to be clear as to the type of coupon and the limits of use. Micheele has a great FAQs section here: https://www.iheartpublix.com/index.php/publix-faqs/
Good luck!
ok just left my publix i used 2 green advange flyer coupons…manager walks over to me while i am in line.. and states i can only use one, i asked why,he stated from now on, it will be one publix coupon per customer . i asked why he said it stated it on the coupon ,i showed him it was not,he shrugged his shoulders and stated ,well its up to me….funny thing is i am not a huge couponer, i spend 1200 per month at publix and he lost my business over a 1 dollar coupon ????
Also quick question living here in florida publix does little ..meaning no doubles no gas savings no penny deal…so if florida publix are losing money how on earth are the publix who provide so much in other states making money…they must be broke…
My Publix in Greenacres, FL accepts Winn Dixie, Sedanos and Target. YEAH–finally the accept Target!!!!
Hi There,
Thanks for posting the policy. I’m in the Clearwater, FL area and shop mostly at the Northwood Plaza Publix.
In the new policy it states that for a BOGO each item is considered a separate sale. Does that mean I can use two coupons, one for the buy one and another for the get one free? I just checked my reciept from last week and the BOGOs are not showing as half price – but rather with the full price on the first item and full price with the full price subtracted for the second one.
Just checking, because if I can use two coupons, it would be different than the way things were working down here in Florida, and would be pretty cool :)
Thanks folks!
Christine
Hey CHristine – you can use a Manufacture Q on each item when you are buying a BOGO deal. Isnt that great?
If I have a Publix, $5 off $30 and a Winn-Dixie $5 off $50, does that mean my order must total $80?
Dollars-off-total-order coupons will be limited to one Publix and one competitor coupon per order. The order total must be equal to or greater than the total purchase requirements indicated on the coupon(s) presented.
Does anyone know the current answer to this?
In Pensacola, FL if you had a Publix $5 off $30 and an Apple Market $5 off $30 they would accept both if your order total was $30 (so you would get a total of $10.00 off the $30.00). However, today (2/26/12) they do not do this and that the order would have to be a total of $60.00 to use both the coupons.
Ok so…
I have a legit coupon that was sent to me directly from the company that is a ‘freebie’. Can i use this at Publix? i know there has been some issues with free coupons but its NOT a copy/internet/print-at-home type coupon – its straight from the company itself. Its a free 5 count Zyrtec Q.
I do parties through houseparty all the time and they give us coupons to get product free for the party. I have used them at my local Publix (E.Brainerd, TN) and they accept them. I do have to pay the tax but hey I’ll gladly do that for a free item.
Does Publix accept register rewards?
Went to Publix today and was so mad by the time I left. Spent about 3 hours in the store getting everything I needed and wanted because I was using certain coupons! Go to ring out and the cashier wouldnt stack all my coupons, The worse one was I had BOGO coupon and another BOGO coupon so the products should of been FREE, they wouldnt let me use any BOGO on BOGO coupon, then they had charcoil advertised for $7.99 and when ringing it up it came to $10.69 and when I let the cashier know that it should be $7.99 he wouldnt change it because it should still be advertised!! Never again will go to that Publix again!!!!!!
SHOULDNT still be advertised!
Wow sorry you ran into that at your Publix. I know locally I had gone to check out and was certain an item I purchased said BOGO on the shelf but it was ringing up full price for both. I was using the self check out so I asked the cashier over them. While she was on the phone with the dept the product came from the manager came over and asked me if there was a problem. So I told him what was going on. He walked to the item, came back with the tag, did the adjustment. I then heard him telling an assistant manager that the tag should have been pulled several weeks ago.
I LOVE Publix. It’s the only place I buy food. They’ve been nothing but nice and helpful. I’ve seen Extreme Couponing and I think those people have a problem. They’re just hoarders. The most of anything I’ve ever bought at one time was 4. And I’ve never tried to use a coupon for something I didn’t purchase.
