It's the start of a long holiday weekend for many folks. My boys have Monday off and they are thrilled. We had originally planned to visit some relatives for the weekend but my husband's brother ended up having to work. Now the weekend will be a little less hectic. Instead, the only plan we have now is to visit my family for a few hours on Saturday to attend my little niece's birthday party. That travel time is a fraction of what we would have done so I am excited to get some time back and will take advantage of it by knocking out some chores then relaxing a bit!
I need a little break as I am still catching up on sleep from our fun last weekend. I mentioned that my oldest kiddo was having a sleepover followed by his birthday party. Well, those boys wore me out! I think they might have fell asleep around 3am on Friday night and were back up at 7am! I tried to tune them out but they were so loud. At first it was funny to hear all their shenanigans but by about 2 am, I was exhausted and ready to strangle them!
They had a blast at the party and it was fun to watch them play paintball. I didn't participate in the action—but I got some good pictures. Once we got home and got the house straighten up, I decided to sit on the couch and veg for a while. Next thing I know, I wake up to see that I had slept for 4 hours! Now you'd have to know me to understand that I NEVER nap. My husband makes fun of me because I can never sit still. I am always up and down doing about a million different things. I am betting a bunch of those kiddos probably went to bed early too 😉
Hopefully you guys have some fun planned this weekend. I'll be happy watching a movie tonight and hitting the sack a little bit early! Tomorrow night we will do a belated Valentine's Day dinner. Celebrating in the middle of the week just didn't work out. I did get some sweet cards from all my sweet guys though!
As far as shopping, I didn't do a ton but I managed to go over budget. I really didn't plan my trip as well as I thought and next thing I know I am spending $80 for our groceries this week. Now I did grab some BOGO chicken so that's was the biggest expense but I also added a few non-essential items to my cart that weren't originally on my list. Funny how fast it can add up!
Hopefully you guys did better than me this week. If you want to share your weekly totals feel free to leave a comment or link up.
