So this week I spent $61.49 for $84.84 worth of groceries.  That means I saved 26% this week –tee hee!!  I think I might go have a cupcake to celebrate–hahahaha!! All joking aside –I am actually very proud of my spending as there is no way I could have purchased 7 steak dinners for under $62. I’d say that I had a great week!

I decided to hit Kroger in hopes of using some overage on Smart Balance to reduce my out of pocket–but of course they were sold out.  I didn’t want to scrap the whole deal so I just went with it and paid a little more than I had expected.  I figured if I had to drag the boys into the store I might as well make it somewhat worth while!

I ran into Kmart twice this week.  I had to do another P&G deal to replenish my tampon supply.  I ended up getting everything FREE after the $10 catalina.  So then I had to go back and spend the $10 catalina this week before it expired.  I looked and looked and just couldn’t figure out what to buy–so I went with toilet paper since it is something we can always use. I did the same at Rite Aid…I couldn’t pass up the super cheap Bounty so I went back on Saturday before the deal ended.  I still have a $5 +UP Reward that I will use this week to score another deal

Believe it or not I spent $83.88 which is quite a large total for me. My savings this week is 71%.  I am very pleased with this total as I added 48 rolls of toilet paper,  30 rolls of paper towels, 4 boxes of tampons and a ton of food!!  I would say I had a very successful haul

I got bored last Sunday –my husband was working in the basement and for whatever reason I decided I wanted to go check out the Kmart super doubles. Like I expected it was quite a mess.  I am not even sure what my actual total was?!  They are running a promotion where you get a $10 coupon when you purchase $35 in P&G items.  I was well over the total but of course my coupon did not print at the register.  So I ended up at customer service and after about 20 minutes and a million returns and attempts to get the coupon to print once we added another shaving cream the coupon finally printed.  I am not sure how or where but somehow I ended up with quite a deal as they doubled more than the limit of 5 (at least that is my guess since I only have the last return receipt.) 

I also was running low on paper towels so I decided to hit Rite Aid to score cheap diapers and a huge pack of paper towels.  They were also offering a P&G promo–so I got a great deal and still have a $5 +UP Reward to use later and will get back a $2 Single Check Rebate!  If you guys visit me over on I Heart Saving Money you probably saw the deal I posted last weekend where Walgreens was offering $10 off a $25 purchase.  I decided to score more cheap diapers with my monopoly money (PayPal moolah that I get from doing various surveys.)  So now I am sitting pretty on a big stash of purchases and scored some great deals!

This week I spent $47.91 for around $167 worth of products (not exactly sure as I don’t have the Kmart receipt)  I am a little bit over my typical weekly amount but I am still on budget for the year!  That means I saved 72% this week!! Not too bad since that included 4 packs of diapers and 11 boxes of wipes–plus all the food!!

I think I did great this week!!  I had a little help thanks to a bunch of free product coupons.  When three coupons scanned they took off the full coupon price of $7.99 and since the chicken was only $3 I got some massive overage!!  I didn’t even realize it until I got home and started looking at my reciept!!  Honestly had I known that I was going to get that much overage I probably would have grabbed a couple more bags of chicken!!  I was also lucky to get a $15 CVS extra care buck for answering a survey so I was able to use it to score a big box of diapers and three 12 packs of Coke for next to nothing!!

This week I spent $35.76 for $188.52 worth of groceries!! That means I saved 81% this week using coupons!!

I did make a couple of mistakes which meant that I spent a little more than I should have! First, I allowed myself to run out of tampons!  I have a huge health & beauty stockpile and just assumed that I had a box…well– I was wrong!!  So instead of getting them for free playing the drugstore games…I had to bite the bullet and grab a pack! I did use coupons but I am certain I could have got them super cheap or free if I had planned ahead!!  I also decided to grab a couple of the Tony’s pizzas that were 10/$10 since I had a coupon that would make them 50¢ each.  Well–apparently I was not paying attention as I accidentally grabbed a box that was not $1 but instead was priced $2.99! I would not have normally paid that much but since I did not catch the mistake until I was home I will just suck it up.

So this week I spent $56.32 for $193.51 worth of groceries. That means I saved about 71% this week!

I am underbudget for the week so if I can get myself together I will just grab some things that we need when I shop next week.  I noticed that we are low on a few staples…so the extra money will come in handy!

My totals are a bit low today as I had a couple of gift cards to use.  I decided to use the Sam’s giftcard to stock up on a couple of things that I have been having to buy at prices higher than my “buy it now” price.  Sugar is one of those things where there is rarely an opportunity to stock up…so my 25 pound bag will give me an opportunity to wait for a good deal.  The same goes for coffee creamer–my husband blows through the stuff to the point that I just can’t keep up!!  I will snag him as much of the International Delight as I can but the big canister will give me a little more time to keep an eye out for a good deal on the shelf stable powder!! 

I also decided to take advantage of the Kroger gift card and use it to grab 15 pounds of Tyson chicken.  Since the upcoming Publix sale is a little slim on deals I may take the opportunity to go through my pantry and restock any deficit areas next week. 

So this week I spent $25.12 for $195.21 worth of groceries.  That means I saved 88% this week.

Every year my playgroup heads to a big farm to pick berries.  The kids love it and we get to come home with the freshest fruit ever!!  I had thought about pulling my funds from my entertainment budget but I am under budget for the year so I think I will just pull it from the grocery fund.  I have over 4 pounds of blackberries, over a pound of strawberries, lemons, butternut squash, and cucumbers.   I also picked up some squash, okra and tomatoes from the fruit stand near my house.

I know it seems like I spent a bunch but I have so much to show for my spending it is amazing!!  Did you see I have 12 canisters of Ovaltine–woo hoo!!  This week I spent $79.72 for $270.71 worth of products!!  That means I saved 71% this week.  I’d say that is a fabulous total especially with the splurges and all those fresh fruits and veggies!!

This was Jake’s last week of school which meant one day was his school program and another day was his end of the year party!  So I had to get the party stuff ready, teacher gifts, contend with people working here in the house, and still take the boys to all their functions…so something had to give!  This week it was more important just to get everything done!  The boys have SoccerTots on Wednesday mornings so while they played I did what I used to do before couponing–I grabbed a scrap of paper from my purse and wrote down what I needed to buy this week!! 

One good thing about running this site is that I kinda always know what the best deals are at Publix Typing up all the deals comes in handy when it is time to make a list!!  Luckily I had my coupon binder in the car so I was able to use a few coupons.  Overall I think I did pretty good for a spur of the moment list.  I did go over budget but you know every once in a while that is A-OK!!  It is a good reminder how planning can really be an effective tool to saving money!!

This week I spent $57.05 for $120.64 worth of groceries!  That means I saved 53% this week!  I think this is a good indication of what you can save by buying what is on sale and using a few coupons.  I am already preparing for next week and I think I should be back on track

Somehow I managed to forget bananas this week too… so I may have to break down and go to the store tomorrow.  I have apples, strawberries, grapes and a variety of canned fruit on hand but wouldn’t you know that is completely inconsequential to a child who NEEDS a banana
