Michelle,
Is there a new Yellow Advantage Buy? When does the “Fire up the Grill” flyer expire??
Thanks,
Lori
There is a gap in the new Yellow Advantage Buy Flyer–I think it should begin next weekend…I hope to get it by mid-week to work on typing it all up
Thanks, Michelle. I don’t know how you do it all!!
daydr3am posted a copy of the NEW Yellow advantage flyer today in the Publix forum if you want to see it.
Looking for 3 of the $1 off any two packages of Hillshire Farm Smoked Sausage (Publix STORE coupon) to pair with mfg coupons I already have. This was in a newpaper flyer a few weeks ago called “Fresh from the Grill”. Have lots of coupons to trade, just let me know what you’re looking for. Couponjunkie63 at live dot com.
Where can I find these Green Advantage Buy flyers? Are they just posted in the front of the Publix store?
HI–Where can I find the Toss 4 Cash book? I have a hard time finding all the coupon booklets that I hear about on various blogs.–Sherry
Sherry you might want to ask at the customer service desk–sometimes they’ll be able to let you know if they have had a specific booklet and if there are any left!
Excessive use of coupons only hurts the economy even more. People that work at these grocery stores are getting less hours because the money spent to supply the food isnt matching what people are paying for it. Perfect example : Competitor coupons! They are just thrown away in the trash! Not compensated at all! This system is just hurting everyone in the long run.
I found the Fisher Fusion Snack Mix on advantage buy today for $1.00. I can’t find this item listed in either of the advantage flyers. Does anyone know when the sale price on these ends? These things are soo tasty and I want to get more $1.00 off coupons before the sale ends.
Im sorry you are feeling frustrated, “frustrated”. Believe me when I tell you that if it didnt help Publix to take competitor coupons, they wouldn’t do it. I can’t speak to the number of hours the average grocery store employee receives, but I can tell you that for everyone of us who shops the sales and uses coupons there are much more who don’t use a single coupon and dont bother waiting for a sale to purchase what they want. What I save by using coupons allows my family to pay the bills in this economy, and is more than made up for by all the people who don’t bother using them. Again, these companies arent stupid. They know what coupons are out there and what the matchups will be for their store’s products. If it were hurting their bottom lines they would change their policy.
My daughter works at Publix and no one is suffering from the coupon usage. Business has most likely increased over the coupon policy and they are constantly hiring. She doesn’t care too much for coupons given how some people try to scam the system but those people are few and far between. I agree with Sarah, if coupons were hurting them, they would modify the terms.
Hello, My name Is Jessica and I had a recent coupon accouter regarding using one Manufacture Coupon and One store coupon out of the Yellow publix flyer. Yesterday I went to Publix did my shopping as usually, I saved $75 and paid out of pocket $34. No problem! I used a store coupon and a manufacture coupon on the Sorrento Cheddar StickSters.
Today my mom went to the SAME publix and did the same deal, they told her Publix no longer does it. After my dad argued with them for awhile they finally let them do it, they told him that it would be the LAST time. can someone please help me out here?
I talked to the Store Manager and he was RUDE!!! Oh my God! I wanted to scream at him…but I didn’t! he was talking to me like I was trying to steal something by questioning why it wasn’t allowed, when it was in the policy. I’m new to coupons, I’m 23. I’m a recent mother and was looking for ways to save money so I can stay at home with our daughter.
He told me that the coupons in the flyer states that its only one per purchase, and that the coupons in the flyer is sponsored by the company its for?! and that people like us are what is hurting this economy because they are losing money to people who use coupons. when I told him that its in the coupon policy he told me there was not one, he has never seen one! HELP please!!! email me at couponjessica@hotmail.com
Hey Frustrated,
I am sorry to say this but you are an idiot to think that coupons regardless of where they come from HURT their business. Publix has been around for years and years and let me tell you, the one hurting is going to be walmart because of Publix’s coupon policy. my bill is 1/4th at publix what is was at walmart. my spending at publix is almost 100% so trust me, Publix is NOT HURTING. Publix surviving, amid all the walmart supercenters popping up on every corner, for over 30 years is proof of their good business scheme. Walmart, on the other hand is beginning to not take any printables etc. Get over yourself. I think you are just pissed off cause you shop at publix and have to stand in line longer due to savvy savers using coupons in front of you.
I hope you all go to hell. You don’t realize Publix WILL NOT be around much longer if you cheap asses continue to abuse our coupon policies! Why don’t you take the hours that you put into scamming Publix and go get a job to pay for groceries! IDIOTS!
Michelle Here: I edited this commenters name and went ahead and approve it so everyone could get a good chuckle
To F You, I was thinking along these lines today. I have Kroger, Walmart, SuperTarget, and Publix in my area and it is Publix that keeps pulling me into their store again and again, multiple times per week with thier penny item promotions, double coupons, Publix issued coupon books, BOGO sales, and great customer service. I rarely use competitor coupons, but know that my Publix stores happily accept them. If anything, I feel that Publix is wanting my business and I happily continue to spend the bulk of my Grocery and Household items budget in their stores.
reading these comments from frustrated and f you is quiet funny. Don’t they realize that stores are reimbursed for the coupons that we use? I think they are just jealous that they are not saving the kind of money we are
I am new to the couponing gig. Still trying to find out what the “Tearpad” is everyone keeps referring to.Please help!! Thanks
Hey HAC
Tearpads are coupons you find attached to a display or on a shelf–they are like a little booklet and you can tear one off
Thank you! Guess that shoul’ve been common sense:)
Concerning frustrated-It is no wonder you are frustrated with that attitude-this is obviously family friendly clean blog, and that language is offensive-you can make a point without having to get down in the gutter. For some of us who have lost jobs or had extreme hardships this is the way we buy our groceries it has nothing to do with being cheap-we don’t have a choice. I think that there is no room for attitudes like yours in this economy or this blog. I also bet Publix would not stand behind you and your comments for one minute. If it is so easy to just get a job, then why don’t you go somewhere that doesn’t take coupons and solve your problem since everyone is hiring-
To Frustrated and …You. I’m sure people will correct me if I am wrong, but Publix does not lose money by accepting coupons. Publix PROFITS from coupons. They are reimbursed by the companies who make the products PLUS they get paid ON TOP of what they reimburse. ITS CALLED AVERTISING…and it’s a brilliant way for manufacturers to advertise (Other than a setup/printing fee, the manufacturers pay ONLY for the successful ads-no coupon comes back to them, they don’t pay. If a coupon comes back to them they know the ad was effective, and they then pay the ADVERTISING cost for that product)
As far as competitors coupons, even if they throw them away, (which I can’t say they do or don’t) they still eliminated the effectiveness of their competitor, and got you to come to THEIR store to buy the product. If you use a manufacturer coupon for that item as well, then they profited! SEE ABOVE PARAGRAPH.
I am sorry if you are frustrated, but I would suggest that both of you look into advertising/economics before you vent further frustrations on a family friendly board.
I have to agree with Christopher 100%!. I spoke with a Publix manager in Fort Lauderdale, FL about their coupon policy. He told me that in addition to the coupon’s face value, they also get .08 cents per coupon from the manafacture. Coupons also allows them to bring in new customers and build customer loyalty. It certainly has work for me. Publix is by far the most expensive supermarket chain in my area; however, they have the best sales and a very generous coupon policy making them the most affordable. Since discovering this site about a month ago, I’ve done all my grocery shopping at Publix, I’ve learned that by stacking coupons and waiting for sales and stacking up on the sale items, I have literally cut down my grocery bill by half.
Sorry, I misspelled advertising the first time!
I enjoy reading comments from well informed shoppers. You have done your research and listen to the great teachers here on this and other good sites to learn how to save or survive during trying times. I wish those that want to spout off before they ask the proper sources might keep thier mouths shut, it is when they open them the ignorance comes pouring out.
In regards to the frustrated person. I had been a loyal Wal-mart customer until Oct. 5th of this year when I discovered this website, I have been shopping at Publix now once or twice a week and do not go into Wal-Mart anymore. I am thankful for this new way to shop.
I am a Publix Manager in Central Florida. I just want to Thank all of you who use this site. Since I have discovered it, I have told hundreds of our customers about it. I myself have saved thousands of dollars from this site. Thank you so much! At Publix WE LOVE your coupons- vendor, Publix, competitor! We love serving our customers and saving you money. Again Thank you so much for this site, I had an idea of making a site like this I just dont have the time. This site is EXACTLY what I had in mind. Again Thank you, and Thank you everyone for shopping at Publix
Wow Becki, after reading the F You comment it is great reading yours. If you find a great Publix with a manager that feels like you life rocks.
I was quite taken aback by the rudeness of the comments F You wrote. My family is trying to stay above water in these rough times. F You I don’t walk in your shoes and you don’t walk in mine. When you are trying to raise a family and have to decide between gas for work, food for your table and diapers for your infant then talk to me. You may not have had a company shut down or any disaster in your life that have caused you financial anguish, but some of us have. So while I take the time to save money with coupons and then utilize my budgeted funds in the most cost effective way; you can continue to funnel your energey being negative and insensitive. Maybe all of the educated people on this board aren’t as enlightened as you, but while you continue to shop Wal-mart and build the newest summer home for the Walton heirs. I’ll keep supporting Publix WITH my coupons. I don’t know about most of you, but by stretching my bucks with coupons that doesn’t mean I’m not spending. Coupons allow me to afford me splurge in other areas that probably have a higher profit margin for Publix.
I guess I am dumb, I can not seem to get to the coupons, to print, I have tried, somehow a couple of time I did, and I was getting Java set up, I want the turkey coupon especially,, please when I hit the coupon button it just goes to comments. Help Please thanks Diane
I stumbled onto this site a few weeks ago when I Googled “Publix weekly ad preview” in hopes of finding out if Cheez-its were going to be on sale…lol! I can’t begin to tell you how much I’ve learned here since and just wanted to say that it has been a Godsend. Between unexpected illness and decreased work hours, my income has dropped significantly this year.
In the past, I used coupons when I remembered. I never paid attention to the flyers in the front of the store and didn’t “bother” with tearpads or mail-in refunds because they were “too much hassle.” Not anymore! I feel like I’m learning from true experts here. I’ve found it especially helpful to have the sneak preview ad so I can get the coupons I’ll need in advance. The coupon match-ups are a tremendous help also, especially the links to printable ones (many thanks!!).
It’ll be awhile before I can catch up to the level of all you pros, but it’s a huge rush to know I’ll be buying/stockpiling cereal for $0.90/box instead of paying $3.79/box, and that I got boxes of Uncle Ben’s rice for a quarter (instead of $1.49!) after coupon when it was BOGO. So… Michelle, thank you, thank you, thank you for having this website! And to everyone who contributes tips, thank you too!
Some people are just plain dumb! lol I am located in North AL and have a couponing club, Snipping Super Savers offering classes and a weekly email with the match-ups. I like you, Mitchelle receive all kinds of thank you’s. So we know we are helping a lot of people so don’t stress over the ignorant folks!!! As a matter of fact “my” Publix THANKS me for bringing in customers!
Thank you for the great work you do! xxx
I wonder if any one has heard of the new Publix coupon guidelines?
Frustated and F You: If Publix has a problem with THEIR OWN coupon policy, they are completely within their rights to change it. I am happy to get a good, and occasionally terrific deal from them, within the rules THEY HAVE MADE. If you don’t like it, you can go somewhere else, or ask Publix to change their rules. Couponing will ruin the economy? LOL, get a grip on reality!
Michelle, Hello I’m new to your site and I’m loving all the content that you post! It has helped me out so much! I just wanted to thank you for everything and say hello!
BIG HUG!
Debbie C
Please help! I am confused about what the “yellow” and “green” advantage buy flyers are. Do these have coupons in them? Are they weekly? I can’t seem to find them anywhere….?
Hello,
I’m new to the coupon world.I’ve been reading the poastings from everyone.I just want to make sure I understand.I can use coupons from different stores to purchase an item and I can stack those coupons on top of each other for that single item? Thanks.
Jessica– The yellow and green advantage buy flyers are different. They come out at different times and both have different coupons in them as well as some special buys. They generally run for about a month or so each.
Landy– Depending on your store’s policy, you can use 3 coupons per item. You can use one manufacture coupon, one store coupon, and one competitor coupon for each item (find out who your store considers a competitor, as some of them have changed).
I discovered this site about a month ago and I just want to say THANK YOU! I used to never shop at Publix because I always thought it was more expensive than Wal-Mart. While they are more expensive on non-sale items, the sales that they have are awesome and their coupon policy is the best by a mile! Finding this site and being able to print off coupons to make my savings even greater has helped cut my grocery bill in half. We have been doing the matchups for 3 weeks and have progressed from spending $114.00 – saving $67.00, to spending $116.00 – saving $92.00. We used to spend twice that a week and would run out of food by the next week, now we always have plenty of food on hand! My husband and I laugh that now we get excited each week for the new Publix ad and the match-ups. Anyways, thanks again for all you are doing to help us save money! Happy New Year to everyone and may you see plenty of savings in 2010!
When I first started using coupons, I was amazed at how much I could save. There was a part of me that felt like a “cheapskate” and I wondered if the coupons scenario would be bad for the retailer. When I stood back and looked at things objectively, this is what I discovered about the process and myself:
1. I used to always shop Walmart and Sam’s. I NEVER shopped Publix. Now, over half of my grocery fund goes to Publix. I spend around $300 a month there instead of $0. I used to spend $50 a month at Kroger, and now I am spending about $100-$150 a month there.
2. There are many times I need specific products, that I do not have coupons for, or had forgotten to plan for. There are times that even with stacking coupons, I know a product is still cheaper at Walmart. Publix has a HUGE markup on most of their items. Yet, in these occasions, I find I still purchase these items at Publix for a few reasons. The first obvious reason is that I am there and I don’t want to drive 8 miles to Walmart. The second is not as obvious….Publix has created a shopping environment, that has made me a loyal Publix customer. I am happy to pay their retail prices on those items, because of the shopping environment they have created through their generous acceptance of coupons and how they have chosen to set up their business.
3. I shop Publix and Kroger now. My Kroger has some employees who welcome coupons, and some who get cranky with me. I have had the clerk at Kroger completely embarrass me on a few occasions. Kroger does not create a wonderful shopping environment, even though I am spending more at Kroger than I have ever spent there in my life. My Publix is always cheerful and they welcome me and my coupons. Sometimes they even teach me how to use them better! Actually, ALL of their employees are consistently cheerful. When it comes down to it, if I have items that I know I am going to have to pay retail for, I write them on my Publix shopping list because of the loyalty they have developed inside of me. If I have to pay full retail, I want it to go to Publix:)
4. At Publix, the ALWAYS offer to carry out my groceries (which I appreciate, I shop with 3 kids and one is a baby). My use of coupons does not affect the service they extend, and their service makes it possible for me to shop there consistently. If they did not carry out my groceries, I would have to go to Walmart at midnight when my children were in bed and my husband was home too…and Walmart would get my $$ instead.
5. Of course, Publix gets reimbursed for their manufacturer coupons, and they get a special rate for their products, so this is not harming them. Instead, they get more of my business in the end.
6. Publix is amazing. They have learned how to set up their business to accommodate customers from every financial bracket. Their amazing customer service and wonderful shopping environment will keep their customers in the higher brackets of income. By maintaining this environment, and then implementing and structuring the coupon plan like they have, they will be able to retain their current customers who have had financial hardships, and gain the business of those who could not “afford” to shop their in the past.
7. With my coupon savings, I can make the car payment, and my cupboards are full. I have been able to take care of my household and bless many other families in need.
7. I am not a “cheapskate” like I thought. I am diligent, and using my resources. I am blessing my family and others, and Publix is prospering from my business as well.
Final Conclusion:
I HEART PUBLIX!!!! I am a loyal Publix fan and customer, with much respect and gratitude for their business.
I too would like to thank you for this site! Since I have started coming to this site (and saving the coupon booklets) we have saved A TON of money. My husband and I are even starting a weekly game–keeping track of the amount of money we save as a percent and see how much we get vs. how much we save. It’s going to be fun!
We used to by groceries at Publix and other items (shampoo etc) at Walmart/Target but I soon realized (thanks to this site) that if we buy it when it’s on sale and we use a coupon we can stock up on those items that we know we will use eventually and save money!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS WEBSITE!!
I am new at this. I have spent what seems like hours this weekend trying to gather and understand it all. We are all going through hard times and can use all the help we can get. My brother told me about how much money his family was saving using coupons. Still not sure about where to get all the these coupons. Where do I get the “red” and “green” advantage flyers?
I just wanted to say Thank You Very Much for all that you do! I have now switched my shopping here in St. Augustine, FL to Publix and CVS from Walmart. Getting into the coupon groove and loving it! You’ve made my life easier and more organized…..thanks again!
Jamison, you can ask for the Advantage flyers at the customer service desk at your local publix. I think there are only yellow and green, I haven’t seen a red one
