onion joesToday I have another recipe that is from my husband’s mom – Onion Joes.

Many years ago when we were first married I asked him what he wanted for dinner. He mentioned that he would love some onion burgers. So, I dumped some Lipton Onion Soup mix into ground beef and grilled up what I always considered onion burgers.

While he was appreciative of the dinner, he explained that his mom’s onion burgers were totally different. He got me the recipe and I decided to re-name them so there would be no confusion in his dinner request. These Onion Joes are a version of a loose meat sandwich and are super simple to make. It’s kinda like a sloppy joe but it’s got an onion flavor rather than a tomato flavor.

The key to these (in my opinion) is having enough of the sauce. Too little and you just have crumbled ground beef on a bun. If you are looking for a tasty meal without a ton of prep AND is easy on the wallet  – try these Onion Joes.

This recipe is part of the Publix Menu Plan For The Week Of 6/26.  Here are the other recipes that I have already shared –
