Try Me Tuesday – Publix Lite Raspberry Walnut Vinaigrette

publix salad dressing Try Me Tuesday Publix Lite Raspberry Walnut Vinaigrette

Welcome to this week’s Try Me Tuesday. Each week I will grab a new set of products and test them out. I’ll put the Publix brand up against a national brand product and report back.

I know many times I struggle with what brand to choose. Often a sale or a coupon/sale combination make that an easier decision…but what about those times when you need an item and there is not a sale? Do you grab the house brand or pay more and get the national brand? More importantly, is there really a difference in taste?

I am a big fan of Publix salad dressings. I love when it’s the penny item. I usually just use one dressing at a time and have never had the opportunity to compare them side by side. This week was the week to give it a go!

I have to tell you guys this was a good one! We love to pick apart the products each week. My oldest son and husband have a great time trying to guess which one is the name brand. This week we couldn’t find ANY difference. Bite after bite none of us could tell one dressing from the other. They were both delicious!

This week the Publix dressing wins by a mile. The taste was identical to the national brand but the price is way different. The Publix brand is $2.10 less than the Ken’s dressing. You can buy two bottles of the Publix dressing and still have money to spare!

Have you guys put these to the test? Which do you prefer?

AND..the Publix brand has less fat, sodium and sugars too. Love it! Thanks for the taste test results. :D

  2. Debbie says:

Just wondering, have you ever compared Nabisco Graham crackers to the Publix ones?

  3. sis2 says:

My coworker’s husband works at Ken’s and he says that the Publix dressings are made in their plant.

  4. S. Poland says:

Thanks for doing these Michelle, I look forward to seeing the product and results each Tuesday. I am very excited about this one as it is our favorite dressing and I never even realized there was a Publix version! It will be Publix brand from now on!

  5. Lynne says:

I wouldn’t eat either one because they both have high fructose corn syrup. This is one of my major no-no ingredients.

I was just getting ready to say the same thing about high fructose corn syrup. Some food manufacturers are now omitting it (i.e. yoplait used to have it and now they don’t.) Ken’s and Publix are you listening?
