happy friday thanksgiving Weekly Totals 11/22 Share Your SavingsHappy Friday everyone! It’s an ugly dreary Friday but at least it is Friday — woo hoo!

My family is coming tomorrow for our Thanksgiving Dinner. We will also be doing a second dinner with my husband’s family on Thanksgiving day. Lots of turkey in my future icon wink Weekly Totals 11/22 Share Your Savings Since I will have a house full of folks tomorrow I had to do my shopping today…and boy, did I shop! This is definitely the biggest shopping trip I have done in many months.

The good thing is that I did pretty good from a budget stand point. I saved a ton of money with coupons and used a gift card to help me knock down my total a bit more. Remember a while back when you guys were voting for my stuffed burger? Well I won –thanks to all of you guys! I got $150 worth of kitchen goodies and a $150 gift card. I set aside that gift card knowing I would need to do some holiday shopping and today was the day. I used it with a little partial card to knock down the total quite a bit.

I ended up with two carts full of groceries and a bill that was over $300. My knees did a little jerk when that total was announced but it was a much needed trip. On the plus side I did save over $200 with the sales and coupons!!

I haven’t paid this much for groceries in a very long time…but, I am now stocked up on lots of goodies! I know some folks will see that I bought 10 packages of butter and think I am crazy. Butter freezes beautifully and at $1.50 per pound it was a must do deal in my book. I bake a lot and for breads and other baked goods the fake stuff just does not work! So –yes you are not seeing things…I really did buy 10 packages of butter. Just keep in mind that should last me a very long time! I grabbed a few splurge items, some necessities and even sushi as a lunch treat for me!
