I hope you guys have had a great week. It’s been fairly quiet this week in my neck of the woods. Still trying to get unpacked a bit and having fun exploring Chattanooga. While we visited many times, living here is very different. Last weekend we finally made it over to the Chattanooga Market. It was awesome! I was able to grab a bunch of great produce and those beautiful flowers you see above.
As we were walking up to the market I kept seeing folks walking to their cars with beautiful bouquets of flowers and jokingly asked my husband if he was going to buy me some flowers. We started walking around a bit and I saw the flower booth. There was a huge line of folks waiting. Then I saw the price and did a little happy dance. Guess how much I paid for those beautiful flowers that were hand arranged as I waited…TEN DOLLARS! Yes, I was shocked too – they would easily cost $30 – $50 at any store.
I also got tons of apples, zucchini, tomatoes, acorn squash, butternut squash and yellow squash. All were fresh from the farm and a great deal. I spent less than $20 at the market and that included the flowers! Guess where I will be every Sunday if I can make it
As for shopping this week…it was a slow week. My husband grabbed a little list of items for me as I did my gas card deal last weekend. I do have to run by the store tonight or tomorrow for eggs. I am down to 2 eggs and need to make royal icing…that egg coupon couldn’t have come at a better time!
Here are the other items that my husband grabbed for me (you can see more about the bacon HERE ) -
Canned Pineapple – $1.49
Limes x 3 – $1
Bananas – $1.46
Onions – $1.02
Publix Bacon – $8.49
Wright Bacon – $9.59
Pork Chops – $4.13
Mahi – $6.99
Yogurt – 50¢
DeWaffelbaker Pancakes – $3.89
Good thing that I didn’t need anything this week because that one trip he made was $40. Yep…my entire budget on those few items. Anybody got any good recipes to use up some very expensive (yet tasty) bacon–tee hee!
