My favorite sausage recipe is with sour kraut
I love adding Hillshire Sausage to homemade Mac/Cheese…. It completes the dish! Making it a main dish rather than a side!
I put it in with some scalloped potatoes, and just bake it right in there. Comfort food.
I slice the sausage in about half inch thick slices, put slices in a pyrex, bake them uncovered till they are well heated through. When I remove the pan from oven I sprinkle with chili powder or bbq dry rub spice and toss (You can also grill the sausage whole, then slice up after grilling and toss with seasoning). I put the sausages on a platter with cubes of cheese, dill pickles, peperoncini peppers, and crackers. Makes a great appetizer!
sausage, saurkraut, and potatoes in a pan. Cook till done, yum
We are big Hillshire Farm sausage people at my house! We usually just add garlic powder and pepper, pan sear it, and then add onions. We usually eat it (and it goes great together) with eggs,Korean 9- grain rice, kim chi, and seaweed. Yum!
I get the spicy sausage to use in spaghetti. Ummhhhh good….. I need to leave to go shopping.
I’m not a great cook, so I use a lot of boxed dinners. I like to add the sausage to Zatarain’s Red Beans & Rice mix. It’s delicious and tastes homemade.
Definitely Jambalaya. Love it!
Add it to a box of Zatarain’s Red Beans & Rice while it cooks–delish !
I also have made the typical hash brown casserole and added slices of the sausages to the casserole for a easy throw together dinner.
Basic Hash brown – sausages casserole recipe:
* 1 can condensed cream of celery soup or cream of mushroom soup
* 1 3/4 cups milk
* 1/2 cup sour cream with chives
* 1/4 cup chopped onion
* 2 tablespoons green pepper, chopped
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/8 teaspoon pepper
* 24 ounces frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed
NOTE: I just stir in the sliced sausage to the recipe before cooking. May have to use a larger baking dish.
Preparation:
Mix soup, milk, sour cream, onion, green pepper, salt, and pepper; stir in potatoes. Pour into an ungreased 8x8x2-inch baking dish. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes.
I fry potatoes, onion, bell pepper and mushrooms add the cut up sausage and top with cheese if u want. Makes a quick meal. I warm up leftovers with eggs for breakfast.
Cut up and grilled. My family loves the Rope Sausage like this.
I add the Hillshire Smoked Sausage to he Kraft Homestyle Mac and Cheese for a quick meal.
3 pounds bite sized cut pieces Hillshire Farm Rope Smoked Sausage

1 large onion chopped
6 Tb minced garlic
4 cups water
2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
1 bay leaf
Cook in a crock pot on low for 5 to 6 hours

Forgot to add the 2 cups of uncooked rice.
I love these in spaghetti and lasagna. I also make these in a pan with onions and peoppers with some chili powder and steak seasonings, with a little garlic. Simple and yummy.
This is really sad, but I’ve NEVER used it any way except to just saute it or grill it. This is the way my mom always made it. I love Hillshire smoked sausage & just wrote them a couple of weeks ago to tell them!
It brings back many childhood memories of sitting around our huge table with my family. My mom always made sauteed/fried it on the stove & served it with Mac ‘n’ Cheese & fresh veggies from my dad’s garden. Sorry, not much of a recipe there! HA!
Sausage rice bowls. Grill sausage. Place in a bowl over briwn rice. Top with lemon juice, black beans, salsa, avocado, and cheese. Yum!!
i have used it in jambalaya, with macaroni and cheese, potatoes and eggs with cheese, even added it to can soups to bulk them up BUT my favorite way is to just slice in half lengthwise brown and heat through in some butter put a piece on some plain white bread with some honey! AWESOME! Hillshire is my favorite brand of smoked sausage.
2 hillshire smoked sausages (rope kind)
2 bell peppers
2 onions
3 cups of rice
Cut up bell pepper and onion into chucks. Slice smoked sausage. Put all in a skillet. Let the veggies and meat cook down. About 20-30 minutes. Cook rice as directed on the box. When its finished put veggie and meat mixtures on top of your rice. You can add garlic salt to taste.
Very simple here:
We slice and saute with onions, zucchini and yellow squash. Very satisfying meal!
Sausage and Peppers Pasta
1 Hillshire Farms Smoked Sausage link cut into circle slices
Half a yellow bell pepper – cut into large chunks
Half a green bell pepper – cut into large chunks
Half an onion – chopped
3 garlic cloves – chopped
1 large can of diced tomatoes
Half a box of whole wheat penne (or your fave pasta)
1 tbs olive oil
Italian Seasonings
Red pepper flake
Warm 1 tbs olive oil in a pan then add sausage and let it brown
When sausage gets some good color on it, add onion and garlic to pan and sautee until the onion starts to become translucent
Add peppers into pan and sautee for a couple of minutes to let them heat through
Add diced tomatoes to the pan and combine all ingredients. Season as you like, I add garlic powder, oregano, basil, parsley and red pepper flake to our taste.
Boil water and cook pasta according to pasta package. If using wheat pasta, cook to the higher time on the package (if it says to cook 8-10 mins, cook it 10 mins).
Continue to stir sauce occasionally while pasta cooks.
When pasta is done, drain and then transfer immediately into sauce and combine so pasta has sauce all in it.
Let cook for another 2-3 mins or so, stirring occasionally.
Serve and top with parmesan cheese.
This feeds myself, my husband and my 2 year old with usually enough left over for my lunch the next day. My 2 year old usually picks the sausage out and eats that first! He loves it!
This is the meat I use when I make black beans and yellow rice. Yum!
It’s very simple – season them lightly with some lawry’s seasoning – then throw the sausage on the grill and place inside hot dog buns and top them off with some spicy mustard!
We are literally having this for dinner tonight. We take the Hillshire Farms smoked sausage and slice it into medallions and saute’ in a touch of olive oil and sliced onions. Serve it hot over yellow rice and it’s a hit with everyone (even my super-picky four year old)!
I like to make a low country boil with potatoes, corn on the cob, shrimp, and lots of SAUSAGE (the sausage is the family’s favorite part) sliced into large pieces. Just put potatoes and sausage in pot with water and Old Bay or similar seasoning, boil 10-20 minutes, add corn (I like the mini frozen cobs), boil 5-10 minutes, then add shrimp and cook for a few minutes until shrimp are done. One pot of yumminess
Red beans and rice is one of our favorite to use sausage in.
I peel potatoes, put them in crock pot along with sauerkraut and at the last hour I put in Hillshire Farm Rope Smoked Sausage
Something I learned from my Dad when he was teaching me to cook many moons ago.
Sauteed Cabbage and sausage
After cooking the sausage a little by itself I chop cabbage with yellow onions, green and red peppers, add it in. I cook until the veggie are tender to touch and serve. It makes a great one pot and filling meal.
Cut smoked sausage into slices, cook until browned, add a jar of beef gravy..sautéd onions over egg noodles…simple and easy..
Hillshire hot dogs!
This doesn’t really count as a recipe, but I like to cut it into small discs, brown it a little, then add in some sauerkraut and cook until heated through.
I like it served with blackeyed peas and cornbread
My husband and I (not the kids) like Hillshire Farm smoked sausage cooked in a skillet with some saurkraut. We add brown sugar to sweeten it up a bit. It’s a great quick and easy meal!
This is an awesome recipe to prepare for a crowd!

Raising a large family meant lots of casseroles. The ultimate favorite that the family makes all the time is Kielbasa, rice and corn. Super easy one pan dish.
Ingredients are hillshire farms kielbasa, boil in bags rice, canned corn, butter and salt and pepper. make as little as you want or as much. The ratio I follow is I ring kielbasa,2 bags rice,2 small cans or 1 big can corn. Cut kielbasa into bite size pieces and put into a 6 or 8 qt pot, put corn with liquid into the pan, add water so you have enough to add rice bags. Bring kielbasa and corn to a boil add rice bags and cook ten minutes. take out rice bags and set aside, put rest in colander to drain. while meat and corn are draining take rice out of bags and put in pot,add butter, salt and pepper to taste. Mix in meat and corn and yummy. I made this for a potluck one time and now I have to make it for every potluck.

In a throw away foil pan place 1 lb of smoked sausage cut into 2 inch chunks, 1 lg green bell pepper cut into chunks, 1 lg. red bell pepper cut into chunks, one onion cut up, a couple seeded jalapeno peppers cut up small, and a dozen small red potatoes quartered. Mix together 1/4 cup of hot sauce with one jar of sweet n sour sauce. (I use La Choy) Pour over the meat and veggies. Cover tightly with foil and place on the BBQ grill over medium heat. Cook about 30-45 mins, turning every so often. It’s very simple and usually enjoyed by all members of the family.
Slice up the sausage down the middle into two halves and then slice “half-moon” bite size pieces. Saute in a pan with really next to nothing to brown it a bit – add some creole seasoning and some brown sugar barbeque sauce. I like some pieces to have a little “char” on them. Once all cooked I top it over white mahatma rice for a very filling meal. I usually will add some fresh green onions to garnish and for a little brightness. Delicious, fills you up and easy on the budget for dinner.

We also use it in Zatarain’s Dirty Rice mix.
It’s not much of a recipe because we just love it sliced in half length wise and grilled, you can’t beat that.

I have always used Hillshire sausage as a substitute for most meats because it is already seasoned and you don’t have to add a thing to make the meat taste better, my favorite is…
Mama’s (me) Stuffed Bell peppers
grill smoked sausage and sweet vadalia onions
roast some red and yellow bell peppers
place all in food processor and add sundried tomatoes
put in a bowl and add a little italian bread crumbs and just a little stock and a little dab of worcheshire sause and a little tomatoe paste you don’t have to add any seasoning because all the flavors come together, combine with a little cooked rice, I like wild rice, because of the texture, you don’t want it too dry because the sausage is already cooked so use stock as needed to moisten it, pre boil your bell peppers, I like to do red, yellow and red, preboil til slightly tender, carefully stuff the peppers, spray a glass baking dish and place in with just a little stock, cover and cook for about 15 minutes, take out use a little Hunt’s meatloaf flavored tomato sauce over and back in oven til done, some prefer no sauce on top, and I like it both ways, I take any left over stuffing and make a few patties in the pan as extra meatloaf…..Luv it!!!!
Oh I forgot, a little sprinkled cheese is optional, some like it, some don’t in my house!
I make a potato name that is so simple but my kids love it!
1 Smoked sausage
4-5 baking potatoes
Chedder cheese
Any vegetable you like
Cube potato and bake at 350 with your favorite seasonings. When potato are slightly crisp add cubed sausage and cook until heated through.
Next add cheese and melt.
Serve with your vegetable ! Yummy
I’m a fan of Zatarain’s, too. We are originally from New Orleans and still have Red Beans and Rice nearly every Monday night. The only way to do it is to brown some sliced Hillshire sausage and add it to the Zatarain’s Red Beans and Rice mix. Yum!
I just slice it up and pan fry it. Also make some fried potatoes with onions and fresh green beans on the side.
A very simple recipe, we saute the smoked sausage and serve with mashed potatoes.

My recipe is almost identical to Michelle’s but I don’t add potatoes i use green peppers and onions and serve over white rice. We also eat them on hot dog buns with mustard right off the bbq, and lastly sometimes I will cut them into sections and then again vertically and brown them to serve with eggs and a bagel at breakfast.
I sautee peppers and onions and sear the hillshire farm sausage (just because we love that char). Then throw it all in the crockpot with some spicy marinara. Cook it on low 4 hours then serve it on hoagie rolls! Easy and YUMMY sausage and pepper sammies!!!

My favorite smoked sausage meal is cooked on the grill and served with applesauce and home grown grean beans. Not a better combination, and great to enjoy it without the extra, unneeded ingredients.
Smoked Sausage Bake
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 1 1/2 hours
Servings: 4-6 large servings
2 Ropes of Hillshire Farms Smoked Sausage cut into coins
4 Large Baking Potatos cut into medium chunks
1 Large Onion
Canola Oil
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tsp black pepper
1. Using a rectangular glass pyrex disk or similar, combine potatoes, onions, pepper and garlic, generously drizzle canola oil over top and toss to mis ingredients together.
2. Add smoked sausage and toss to combine, being careful not to have too many coins touch the sides of the glass baking disk to avoid burning of too many sausage coins.
3. Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 375 for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
4. Remove foil, stir and continue baking for about 20 minutes. Potatos should be extremely fork tender when done.
The oil, juice from the sausage and onions combine to make the most amazing tasting potatoes. This dish is sure to be loved by all.
An easy to prepare dish for any time of the year but makes a wonder winter weekend dish. Add a side salad and voila, a delicious and easy to prepare dinner is served.
I have shared this dish with company many times. Each and every time, I have been asked to share the recipe. Even my very picky parents and children love this recipe. All who I have shared this with have added it to your family dinner menus.
ENJOY!!
This is one of my easy go to meals. Super simple.

Skillet Sausage and Cabbage
Slice and brown sausage. Remove from pan. Add chopped cabbage, salt, pepper, Tony’s to taste. Cook down, covered 15 minutes. Add cooked sausage to warm.
Our favorite way to use Hillshire Farm Rope Smoked Sausage is on the grill.
Sweet and Sour Smoked Sausage on the grill
1 Package Hillshire Farm rope sausage cut into bite size pieces
1 Onion (or more if you like onions like me) cut into chunks
1 Green, yellow, and/or red pepper cut into bite size pieces
(I like using different colors)
1 Can pineapple chunks
Wrap Sausage, onions, pineapple and green pepper in foil with 2Tbsp. of water and grill for 10-15 min
Once grilled, pour into bowl with sweet and sour sauce of choice. I like spicy food so I add crushed red pepper and hot sauce to the sweet and sour sauce to spice it up.
Sometimes I use jarred sauce or I make my own
Sweet and Sour sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white vinegar
2/3 cup water (or pineapple juice)
4 Tbsp. soy sauce
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
Mix ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Simmer for 5 min.
I grew up eating this and now I make it for my family. It’s super quick, inexpensive, and super easy for a busy family.
1 bag of frozen corn
1 bag of baby lima beans
1 package of Hillshire sausage
diced onion (optional, but adds good flavor)
butter, salt and pepper to taste
Put all ingredients in a pot with enough water to cover plus a little extra.
Once it boils, slice sausage and add it to the pot. You can double or triple the recipe depending on the size of your family or the size of their appetites.
we enjoy the classic: sausage, black beans, corn and yellow rice. we cut the sausage up small and serve it in a bowl all together.
LACHO AND FRIED POTATOES
POTATOES:
6 large Russett potatoes (or whatever brand you choose to use)
LACHO:
2 packs of Hillshire Farm Pork Smoked Sausage
3 red bell peppers
3 yellow bell peppers
3 orange bell peppers
3 green bell peppers
2 large white onion
6 large tomatoes
It is best to start the potatoes first, because they take a while to cook.
Slice potatoes into cubes, about 1/2-1-inch thick and season to taste. Heat 1 tablespoon of grease (or vegetable oil) in a large skillet on medium, and add potatoes. Fry potatoes on medium, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown or have reached desired doneness. Now, let’s start the Lacho!
Slice smoked sausage about 1/2 inch thick and sauté in a LARGE skillet on medium heat for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
As sausage is cooking, slice ALL bell peppers into long 1/4-1/2 inch thick strips. Do the same with the 2 onions.
Once the smoked sausage has produced about 1-1 1/2 cups of juice, add all bell peppers and onions in with sausage and mix together. Let the smoked sausage, bell peppers and onions sauté, stirring occasionally, for about 30 minutes or until peppers and onions have softened.
Slice ALL tomatoes and lay on top of sausage, pepper and onion mixture. Turn heat to low and let simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
We have a favorite at our house that we made up when we were low on funds. My hubby makes it in foil packs when he goes hunting too.
1 package hilshire farmed smoked sausage
1 can sweet corn
1 can french cut green beans
2 large idaho potatoes (we have used red too and you can use as many as you like)
I have done this in my crockpot on low in the am for hot dinner when we got home or quickly in a pot on the stove.
Chop the potatoes into medium chinks. Chop the sausage about 1/2 inch thick rings. Add can of sweet corn liquid and all. Then do the same with a can a french beans. Cook until potatoes are done. My five year old named this Fred
I love making Zuppa Tuscana and for the size I make it only requires to use one 16 oz italiazn sausage but I changed it to 2 lb smoked sausage instead. and I LOVE this sausage – and the smell that you enjoy when its in the oven for about 25 mins – yum!!!!
Another thing we do is just saute’ the sausage in a little bit of EVOO with onions, red -yellow – and green peppers and add s&p with a side of mashed potatoes.
Im getting hungry now!!
now i know what to do for dinner
I love Hillshire Farm Smoked Sausage in a variety of recipes. One of my favorites is:
Voodoo Pasta
1 package Hillshire Farm Smoked Sausage, cubed
1 jar Alfredo Sauce
1-2 Tbsp minced garlic (depending on how much you like garlic)
1/2 onion, diced
1/4 tsp. cayenne powder (use more or less to taste)
salt and pepper, to taste
12 oz dried pasta
Cook pasta according to package directions.
Meanwhile, heat sausage and onion in medium skillet until sausage is lightly browned and onion is translucent. Add garlic and saute 2 minutes. Add Alfredo sauce and seasonings. Stir and let simmer until heated through.
Toss with pasta and serve. Yum!
***My daughter is really sensitive to any kind of spice, so these days I leave out the cayenne altogether. Me and my hubby miss is it, though!
cheesy sausage potato bake
I make this for family night supper at church alot. Microwave 6 -8 large baking potatoes till soft about 10 minute. Meanwhile slice hillshire farm sausage into bitesize rounds and brown in skillet with a little oil and and a medium onion sliced. Remove from skillet and add a little more oil and diced cooked potatoes and brown on high till crispy edges form. Toss potatoes, sausages and onion mixture into baking pan with salt pepper garlic and a little seasoning salt or creole seasoning if you like it hot. top with shredded cheddar cheese and place under broiler til cheese melts and turns slightly browned.
I make a Zatarians jambalaya or red beans and rice mix and add cut up (cooked) Hillshire Farm sausage to it. Its my go-to meal when I’m in a pinch. My husband loves it!
Our go to meal for this is fried rice. In fact, it’s on the menu for dinner tomorrow night!
Saute 3/4 of a lb of smoked sausage(cut in quarters) in a little oil until brown. Set aside.
Slice up 3 or 4 carrots and a few green onions. Saute the carrots in the same pan the smoked sausage was in. After a few minutes add the green onions and some frozen corn. Saute a couple more minutes, then set aside.
Now add 2 or 3 T. oil to the same pan, turn the heat up and line the bottom of the pan with rice. (day old works best, but it should at least be cold) “fry” the rice until it turns slightly golden.
Move the rice to one side of the pan and add 2 eggs. Working very quickly, scramble them until hard, then mix them with the rice. Turn the heat to low and add the vegetables and smoked sausage back in. Add soy sauce to taste and serve.
My hubby and kids LOVE this and it’s very versatile. I generally saute up whatever vegetables we have on hand and it’s done in about 20 mins.
I just cut up the sausage with peppers and onions cook with a little worcestershire and teriyaki sauce and serve over rice!
4 diced potatoes
1 green bell pepper diced
1 lb smoked sausage diced
1 onion diced
1 clove garlic minced
olive oil
season with whatever you like. (i like a little old bay)
fry it all up in a skillet or bake it in a pyrex covered in foil,
my favorite way to use Hillshire Farm Smoked Rope Sausage is to cut it up, saute with onions, and mix in with our favorite spaghetti sauce. We serve it over noodles, or sometimes over a sweet bread like King’s Hawaiian. This was always awesome to come home to after being at the beach all day. The kids always have an appetite after a day of playing!
I cut up
I meant to say I cut up the saugage into about 2inch pieces, slice in half but still contected. Grill and top with American cheese. My kids love this – serve on hamburger roll!
I slice the sausage, chop a half a head of cabbage, 1 onion chopped, and 1 can of diced tomatoes. Cook that all together in a big skillet. We eat it on top of plain white rice or I crumble and cook a bunch of ramen noodles and mix it with the meat mixture. My super picky 6 year old wont touch it which is fine since me and my husband will polish off the whole pot by ourselves.

When making smoked sausage, I always reserve a cup of diced sausage to use as a topping on homemade pizza. I store it in the fridge in a ziplock bag, and then I know pizza will be coming within a couple of days!
Sliced and added to Zatarain’s Jambalaya.
I like my sausage sauteed with red, green and yellow peppers, onions and garlic. I then toss it with fresh pasta and a small amount of butter. Top with a little grated parmesan cheese YUM YUM! Easy, fast meal my family loves!

http://www.kevinandamanda.com/recipes/dinner/spicy-sausage-pasta.html
One pot- you don’t even have to cook the pasta first! I would love to win! Thanks!
I slice it and saute it with a thinly sliced onion and a box of perogies. Serve with sour cream. Yum.
Growing up, my mother would make her fried rice with chinese sausages, very good! Now, I make fried for my kids using smoked sausages..just as good! Saute the minced garlic and diced onion with a lil’ oil, then dice the sausage into chunks, saute it with other ingredients such as green peas, corn, carrots…etc. Throw in some scrambled eggs, season with soy sauce, lil’ sugar and black pepper. Now this may sound weird, but I would add a little ketchup to the fried rice. I always have to have a pot of rice in the rice cooker, so when the kids get hungry, its so easy to grab the ingredients and throw it all together.
I top my pizza with sausage
Homemade pizza with mozzarella, gouda, sausage, roasted red peppers, banana peppers and mushrooms. Yum!!
Cut sausage into bite size pieces. In saute pan add a little EVOO and saute some onions, garlic and green pepper. Add in sausage and saute until sausage starts getting a good brown to it. Then I add in some artichoke hearts and stewed tomatoes. I serve it over wide egg noodles.
Yummy!!
My family likes to grill the sausages with a little BBQ sauce and some grilled onions and peppers. Then we either eat them like that or in hoagie rolls. Yummy.
Grill it!
My family just loves when I make the sausage and pesto pasta (sometimes throw in some chicken also). I cut up the sausages into bite size pieces (sprinkle with some Everglades seasoning), saute in pan with Olive oil, garlic, onion, green & red peppers until the sausages are nice and brown and everythings cooked. While cooking sausage and veggies, boil pasta until al dente. Prepare the pesto sauce (good trick do day ahead and great to pop in freezer. So good!
I cut up the sausage and fry it in the pan with red and green bell peppers. Add pasta sauce and Penne Pasta and that makes one yummy pasta dish!
Add potatoes, onions and peppers and some hot pepper
I cut it up and brown it then add it to one of those red beans and rice mixes.
Glazed is the way to go. In a deep skillet add Hillshire Farm sausage, water to cover, 2 oz vinegar, and 2 TBsp sugar. Heat through. Pour off most water. Add 2 TBsp additional sugar and allow to reduce. Turn sausage frequently and glaze. Careful not to burn. Yummy!
I make a Hungarian dish called Letcho.
You cook Peppers, onions, tomatoes, garlic and sausage. Let it all cook down. Add salt and Hungarian paprika to taste and serve over rice. Also, a must have is some good hearty bread to dip the juices with. I have never made it for company and they not ask me for the recipe. Its my favorite childhood dish.
Chop sausage into many pieces for an awesome sausage, egg, potato and cheese casserole for Holiday mornings!
I add sausage slices to potato wedges and bake until sausage is warm throughout and potatoes are crisp
I love to use this in soup with beans and rice making a hearty soup that can also be used in a burrito when drained of juices.
This is so easy and a great, quick recipe if your in a hurry or worked late, or just because its delicious.
4 sausages (Hillshire smoked or Polish fabulous choice)
2 potatoes peeled and quartered
4 cups finely chopped cabbage
1/2 cup water
Put sausages in skillet, place potatoes between them, cover with cabbage and add water. Cover and cook at a very low heat and forget about it till meal time. It won’t burn, but it will brown by itself. Serve with mustard and vinegar.
I just cut it in half to give it a flat side, then brown it up in a pan. Serve with scrambled eggs and cheese grits on a Sunday morning. Yeah man.
Love to cut it into small circles and add it to scrambled eggs, potatoes, green peppers and onions. YUM!
While not super original, I love to cook it with onion, garlic, and add saurkraut! I’ll usually make pierogies to go with it
I love to cook it in the crockpot with saurkraut. Makes the whole house smell great!
I like to cut it to about 1 inch length and brown it; then add sliced onion, saurkraut and fresh sliced apple to the pan, fry all together for a quick meal.
Hillshire Farms Beef sausage is the best for my famous jambalya. My kids won’t eat that though….they don’t like the pork sausage in it. But it’s also great for a quick weeknight meal of sausage and peppers served over rice. Quick and easy and oh so good.
sausage soft taco. i put sausage in food processer then turn the sausgae in ground sausage and put ground sausage in pan and cooked them, put 1 teaspoon of chili powder in it for seasoning, no need for taco seasoning pack. if you want spicy, put 1 teaspon of paprika along in it and stir the ground and cooks til it is done.and put sausage in soft torilla in it, add tomatoes, lettuce and cheese. salsa is optional. you can also put ground sausage in hard taco shell or make taco salad out of it with torilla chips.
We have an awesome meat/butcher/deli market in town. They also have a small little take out window for yummo sandwichs, soups and subs. I try to recreate their awsome Polska Kielbasa sandwich. Very easy, quick and fabo.
Slice through the lengh of Kielbasa and grill. Lawyer good quality rye or pumpernickle bread with high quality deli mustard, chopped onions, and hot sauerkraut and pepper. Serve with cruncky kosher dill pickles and baked beans.
Easy shrimp/sausage creole over rice. Use the recipe on Campbells Tomato soup and modify to add sausage to the original recipe. Used lots of spices, peppers and onions too. Very good for a quick version of the longer method.
I like adding sausage to kale or collard greens. I also add them to fried rice or Asian sticky rice.
