Weekly Totals 12/21 – Share Your Savings
December 21, 2012

Happy Friday everyone. I hope you have all had a great week.
My guys are out of school for a few weeks so we are currently in vacation mode. We are celebrating by sitting here watching “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” in our pajamas – great way to spend a cold Friday afternoon! After the movie, I will do dinner and then my plan tonight is to make a ton of holiday goodies – yum!
I made a trip to Publix this morning right after I dropped off my oldest at school. Since I am whipping up some treats tonight, I needed to grab a few things. I decided to just keep going while I was in the car. It was a last minute decision to go shopping so I was not quite as prepared as I needed to be.
I volunteered to help with the Christmas party at Jake’s school so I needed to shop, get the food back then take off again. I was rushing around this morning and left an entire pile of coupons sitting at my printer…oops! So, looks like I will be going back again to grab a few of the deals I missed.
I ended up still doing pretty good and got the majority of items on my list. Now, I know some of you are going to look at my list and cringe – my total spent was very high this week! We are frying a turkey for Christmas and it takes a huge box of oil to make that happen. I have been holding four $10 Home Depot gift cards from Recyclebank rewards just to cover my oil purchase. Well, I ended up needing them for something else…so this year the oil had to come out of my grocery budget. Not the end of the world since I got a $100 gift card as a gift last week. I was hoping that would cover some of my holiday ingredients and baking supplies…but — such is life.
I am going to try to work up my yearly totals at some point next week. It is always so exciting to see if I was able to stay under budget…fingers crossed!

Was a great saving week! I got stocked up on gas cards last week, and this week am hosting a birthday party and christmas, saved a bundle. Thanks Michelle!!
My emphasis of late has been to stock coffee for the coming year because about the only time I find sales on coffee is during the holidays. I used money makers to help subsidize beyond coupons and sale prices. With BOGOs and sale prices $61.48 went down the belt, which came down to 25.54 after coupons. With this lot and some previous deals recently, I’m now fully set on coffee in the pantry!
Well… Today’s been my biggest savings yet! I have to go exchange an item that wasn’t BOGO to get the real deal but after I fix everything I should get… 6 oils, a bunch of cat treats, 6 boxes of crackers, 4 mayos, 4 olive cans, 2 cookie boxes, and a bunch of other things… a retail value of 216.50 for 18 dollars!!!!!!
I was about to cry at the store!!!!
Me and my family did really well today because of the target coupon 5 off 30. My total before coupons was 250 dollarrs. They let me use 8 , 5 off 30 target coupon off of that plus my other coupons. I paid 9.61 cents before tax. The tax were 10 dollars. This is what I bought. 50 campbells cooking soups.(free after coupons) 22 knorr sides (free after coupons) 8 kraft mayo , 30 ritz crackers, 9 whiskas, 17 sauve kids, 4 clear shampoo/conditioner, 4 crisco oil, 8 kraft fresh take, 1 tictac and a loaf of bread. I,d say we did good!
Than k you michelle for all your hardwork! Because of your site , I save a lot of money on groceries. I have a big family and I need a lot of groceries. More power to you MICHELLE!
.59 cents total
got:
4 nature made vit D
4 bertolli pasta sauce
2 smart balance milk
2 temptations cat treats
1 canteloupe
1 high fiber cereal publix brand
1 birds eye frozen veggies
I wanted to ask you about your post with the Nature’s Made vitamin’s…you showed as an example that they sell for $3.99-5.99…and using the Publix coupon for $3.00 off and then the $2.00 off manufacture, that they would be free / money maker. I could not get mine to come out that way. The manufactur’s coupons all had either to use on B vitamins or C vitamins….nothing generic. Even though I think I got a great price on the B’s at $5.99….I could not get it to go lower than $1.00. Did I use a different coupon than you? Did your coupon specify what type of bottle you could use it on, or was it a generic for any one?
thank you for all that you do for us out here! It is greatly appreciated.
Happy holiday’s!
Pam
