Contessa World Cuisine Meals Review & Giveaway

If you have been hanging out with me for a while you probably know that I do a fair amount of cooking. I typically set aside about an hour and a half each night to cook, eat and clean up. Some nights I am less than thrilled with my nightly routine. Since we live about 20 minutes from civilization there is no chance of running out for fast food. Heck, we don’t even have pizza delivery out here in the boonies.
Like most of you guys, some nights just don’t go according to plan and my dinner routine is shot. Then of course there are those nights when I just don’t have the energy to spend a ton of time in the kitchen! Typically, I resort to whipping up sandwiches for everyone…which is usually not received very well. When the folks at Contessa emailed to ask me if I would be interested in trying the Contessa World Cuisine Meals, I figured – why not.
I got my first chance to check them out a few weeks ago on a Friday night. The boys’ horseback riding lessons started late which meant we would not be home until after 7:30. By the time we got home everyone was starving and I needed something quick, easy and filling. I remembered the Contessa World Cuisine Meals in my freezer.
I chose the Italian Sausage Rigatoni. The preparation was super simple and I had dinner on the table in about 10 minutes. The bags serve two but I was able to do a quick salad and bake up a batch of crescent rolls and stretch the meal for all four of us. My boys are 5 and 6 so they really only ate a few bites of the pasta. I would say that the bag is a very nice serving for two adults.
Now from a taste stand point – it was fantastic! I hate to admit it but it is similar to a ziti dish that I make and the Contessa World Cuisine Meal was better than my recipe. It was very hearty and had a lot of meat.
Over the past couple of weeks we also had a chance to try the Beef Mongolian, Chicken Sesame and the Shrimp Primavera. Like the first meal, all were super easy to prepare. Basically you just need a skillet and 10 minutes for a hot meal for two.
Both my husband and I really enjoyed the Beef Mongolian and the Shrimp Primavera. I can say for fact that my husband was a very big fan of the Beef Mongolian. I happened to ask him what he wanted for lunch last weekend and he said, “I wouldn’t mind more of that Mongolian Beef that you made.” He was a bit disappointed when I told him that I didn’t have any more and that it was from a bag – tee hee. He thought I had made it. Asking for leftovers is a sure sign that he really liked it.
I can honestly say for a quick and easy meal – I would definitely happily grab a bag of Contessa World Cuisine Meals to serve at my house.

Let me just say that they all look delicious! I think the one I’d try first, though, is the Vodka Chicken Penne. As crazy as it sounds, I’ve never vodka anything! I hear great things about them so I’d try this right away! My husband’s first choice would probably be the shrimp stir fry. That’d be my second

My 5 year old LOVES shrimp (we all do), so I think we would have to go with the Shrimp Primavera. I love it when you can find a healthy meal that is so easy to prepare!

I think the Mongolian Beef would be what I try first as it is one of the lowest in Sodium. I really like that the Sauce packs come separate that way you can use less if you want to save calories or Sodium.
