Weekly Totals – Share Your Shopping Totals For The Week
August 3, 2012
This is our last week of summer and my last hopes of being able to sleep in. I am still not wanting to believe that my boys start school next week – YIKES!
I guess I have to enjoy this last weekend before we jump back into a more rigid routine. The one perk is that both boys will be in school the whole day this year. Jake will start first grade and Jeb will do a combination of Pre-K and special needs preschool. So, I will have them both in school by 8 am and then have a little freedom until 2:30. I am not sure I will know what to do with myself. I am hoping to be super productive.
I will also be able to go back to shopping solo! I like being able to take my time when I shop. They are usually pretty good but I feel rushed when I have to shop with them!
This week I hit Publix once and got a bunch of goodies including some frozen yogurt – YUM!
Publix Frozen Yogurt, $3.50

No weekly totals just a WHOOP WHOOP for school starting on Monday!
Well at first I thought this was gonna be a slow week…I’ve been to Publix three times in three days! Stocked up on soup, cinnamon toast crunch, tampax, popcorn, and steam fresh. I am set and ready to go on the items for a while! Thanks so much for all you do to help save us money Michelle! You are the best!
I went tonight and got 18 cans of soup, 2 playtex bottles, 2 boxes of bottle liners and a large can of Similac for $2.64. I would be excited except I was treated like garbage and it’s really got me down. I’d rather have paid full price than to have people be so darn mean about having a few coupons and taking 2 minutes longer to check out than I “should have”. I think I’m done for awhile…
Where did you shop Jennifer? That is horrible but please remember – “Don’t let the bastards get you down!” I’m excited for you at the price you paid. You did good and I’m proud of you.
Jennifer – Keep your head up don’t let other people make you feel bad just because they are jealous of what you know how to do! Don’t stop saving money…. they are not worth all that! Put a smile on
tomorrow will be better.
I have had an experience like yours recently, I came home and cried it really had me down, but I was at Publix yesterday and I got 10 Yo P 4pk yogurts, 6 Gerber 2pk baby food, 6 Smuckers pb & j’s 10 packs of pens, & 2 large tubs of baby formula, I had a total of 47 coupons on all of that I paid 20.93 and spent my limit for my $5.00 gift card mail in rebate too! So really paid 15.93 they lady behind me in line asked if she could see my receipt when I was done! She said she has tried using coupons and just could not figure it out. The cashier was so happy I had saved $71.99 that she asked all about it and said good for you, and the lady that help me to the van laughed when she saw all my newspapers from all my stock piling, and was amazed what she had just witnessed. That is what makes me feel good; the ones that are so amazed at how well it does work, and are so interested on how we do it.
Thanks ladies
I’m shopping in North Florida and for a long time I thought Publix was wonderful and it still is the best store around. But my “favorite” store lately has had a shortage on cashiers so all the customers get so aggravated with anyone that has coupons and holds up the lines, and even the cashiers that used to be really friendly and cheer me on are getting annoyed by me. I never buy more than $30 at once so I can get through the line quicker and not hold anyone up, but yesterday a lady made a huge production by slamming her stuff around, shoving someone out of the way, giving me the death stare and when I apologized she started yelling at me. The cashier didn’t help either, she just made me feel worse than I already did. At first I was ready to be done, not worth it anymore. But today I’m thinking they can all just get over it. My husband had a good idea of putting my coupons on the belt after my items so everyone is forewarned. I liked that. Plus he said he’s going with me to the store from now on. He’s 6’5 and 250+ lbs, so hopefully I won’t have as many problems in the future
You go girl now that will surely make them think twice to show their tails! LOL glad u feel better!
