Upromise – Earn Money By Shopping At Publix

I always get a bunch of questions about Upromise and how it works. It is a really great program and since we will get a bunch of new coupons to load tomorrow I thought I would give you guys an explanation of how it works.
Hopefully this will help you see what a valuable program it really is and how it can be a nice way to accumulate some moolah!
So what is Upromise? It is a totally FREE program where you turn your everyday spending into money that you can use to pay down a loan, save for college or just spend on anything you would like!
They have several ways to earn money.
Anyone can sign up for a Upromise account! You do not need to have kids to enroll! While Upromise earnings can be used to pay off a loan or save for a child’s college fund, you can opt to request a check and then use it on whatever your heart desires!!
So far we know that it is a free program and you can use money on whatever you want. Now let’s talk about how easy it is to earn money through Upromise.
Since we are all about Publix, let’s talk about how to earn money just by shopping at Publix.
The first thing you will need to do is join Upromise. Then, next time you are shopping just go to the customer service desk at your local Publix and request a set of Upromise cards. I grabbed a new set of cards so you can see what you are looking for. As you can see in the picture, you get several key tags and one big card. Just set up an account/log in to Upromise and register your Publix Upromise card (plus any additional grocery and drugstore loyalty cards) and the hard part is done.
I post the list of eCoupons on the first of each month. That is when I always load mine. Just click on the eCoupon page on the Upromise site and load the eCoupons. I always load all of the coupons since I never know what deal I might find. Then, all you have to do is shop as you normally would. When you purchase items that correspond to the eCoupons you will get that coupon amount deposited into your Upromise account! How easy is that?! No paper coupons to manage and nothing to track–it’s done for you!
My second favorite way to earn is through Upromise Dining Rewards. This is another easy one as all you do is log in to your Upromise account and register your credit and/or debit cards. You can then check the list of participating restaurants and when you pay the check with the registered card you get a percentage of your spending deposited into your Upromise account. The percentage amount will vary by restaurant. But again…you really do nothing beyond the initial set up.
For all of you who shop online, you can get cash back at a ton of participating retailers. If you can’t remember to check Upromise before you shop you can install the TurboSaver toolbar which will automatically find deals for you when you search online.
You can also sign up for a Upromise credit card to get savings on all your purchases made with the credit card. I really can’t comment on this feature since I don’t do credit but it is an option that I thought I would tell you about.
If you want to earn even more money you can get family members to join and help you save. My parents have all of their cards registered on my account so the boys earn even more money!! The more folks who accept your invitation the more money you can earn!!
Once you have your account the only thing you really have to do is load your eCoupons each month and then you just shop/dine out as your normally would.
I would love to hear how you guys make the most of Upromise? I have earned a nice little chunk of change for the boys with almost no effort! That is my favorite way to make money –tee hee!! As you can see from my picture, I am due to transfer some money.
I have the Upromise credit card. 1% of all transactions go directly into your Upromise account monthly. (We just pay the credit card balance off each month so we aren’t racking up any debt.) We have saved about $2000 this way in 10 years. We have the upromise account linked directly to our kids’ 529 college savings funds, so it gets deposited automatically when it reaches $25. You can designate what % you want to go to each child.
I think that if you buy gas at Mobil and one other place you get 3%. We don’t have either stations near us, so it doesn’t help us.

I guess they don’t do like they used to by depositing a little bit of money if you buy certain products at Publix. Perhaps they did away with this when they introduced the ecoupons?

I get most of my points by buying gas from Mobil. I probably have about the same balance. I have also earned some dining points, but there aren’t many local restaurants that I go to. I would have more if I was more diligent looking up the coupons on upromise and remembering to scan the card. I’m going to keep a calendar and write on it to check the site each month! you can also add your cvs, rite aid and (sorry) winndixie cards as well!
I signed up for this about a year ago, but have yet to really get using it! I always forget to have it scanned at Publix. I really need to try harder!
Probaby a silly questions, but what is the purpose or benefit of adding other stores to your Upromise account? I thought this was a Publix program.

I was wondering since I will need to get specific card for Upromise at Publix, do I need to get same kinds of card at each participating stores like Target, Walmart, or Staples….?
I tried signing up when I saw this post and the page wasnt loading right so I wasnt able to finish registering. When I tried again about a week later and it was doing the same thing it dawned on me maybe the problem is my browser. I closed Firefox and opened Internet Explorer and registered with no problem.
Just a quick question for explaination…If we load the Publix coupon onto the card, can we still use paper coupons if we buy more than one of that item?
You don’t just have to use Publix people. You can go to Upromose site and download the TurboSaver, or just go do you online shopping by going thru the link on their site (Walmart, and hundreds of others) and you earn percentage of your purchase (usually 5%).
