I got an opportunity to try out the two Quaker Soft Baked Bar varieties. They were a hit a my house. It's often hard to find a food that we all agree on, but this was a treat that we all enjoyed. They are a perfect start to the day, or maybe a mid-day snack and often here at my house – a bedtime snack for my boys.

The bars come in two different varieties:

• Cinnamon Pecan Bread
• Banana Nut Bread

I prefer to eat them as a way to start the day as a breakfast snack. A few seconds in the microwave and you have a tasty treat that rivals any bakery bar without the hefty price tag.

These treats aren't just tasty, but are packed with:
• 140 calories
• 5g of Fiber
• 6g of Protein
• Excellent source of 5 B-Vitamins

I love them because they also work well with my Weight Watchers plan. I popped in the nutritional info online and found that one bar is only 4 points plus. Not only do they taste great but they are a wholesome food. All that great protein and fiber make them perfect for all of us looking to maintain a healthy diet.

I am partial to the Cinnamon Pecan Bread while my boys prefer the Banana Nut Bread. No matter which you choose you'll get the fuel you need with a flavor you love!

My husband and I both really like these bars but they have been hard to find over the last few months. Prices vary wildly from a high of $3.45 at Publix to $2.00 at Target. (All depending on the week or location.)

Be sure to check the expiration dates as well. I had to insist that my local Target pull two boxes off the shelves. They were 3 months past the labeled date and they were the old style boxes!

Heat for 8 seconds in the microwave and enjoy!!!

Mention the word heathy and its like you gave my kids kryptonite. Hoping I can pull a fast one and trick my kids into loving something that is actually good for them.

I just saw the Banana Bread kind on the clearance shelf at my local Publix. Don’t remember how much they were though.
