Big Taste Small Budget – Low Country Boil
June 4, 2012
Monday means we get a new recipe from Susan over at Our Family Eats. Today she has one of my all time favorite summer time meals – A Low Country Boil.
Here at my house this is something we love. We invite a bunch of friends and family over and have a ball. We have a huge pot just for boils that we use on the outside propane burner. We throw big plastic tablecloths on the tables outside and once the boil is ready we just pour the food down the length of the table and everyone digs in – no plates and no flatware…just bunch of napkins and a cold drink!
We do a very spicy boil and for us, crawfish is a must. Sometimes I will even throw in some crab legs. Holy moly – I think I need to start calling folks and get a party together!

LOL, love this. We just had one of these last Saturday at the park for my aunt’s birthday. The wind stopped us from pouring everything across the tables as we usually do though. Still a delicious treat for the whole fam. The crab legs were a must in my fam and most quickly snatched up lol. Lot’s of summer fun ahead as always.
Love this. Sounds Delicious. Just add a cold Smirnoff from the mail in rebate and voila cheap meal! Thanks as always Michelle, your site is the best:)
Tried it tonight thanks. I am a husband so I rarely cook but this was a big hit. My 14 year old said I finally made something that did not suck and he came back for more. Even more amazing he wanted some tomorrow and he usually hates reheated food. The only thing I would do differently is cook the potatoes for maybe 6 minutes at the start instead of 8 as they turned out pretty mushy(yet good) at the end.
