Frugal Family Fun for Less – Saving At The Movie Theater
May 31, 2012
My guys are already out of school and soon all the kids should be out. The majority of my yearly entertainment budget is spent in the three months that the boys are out of school.
I love my children dearly but there is no way I can sit at home with them everyday for the entire summer. So…we go out and have fun. I try to plan ahead as much as possible so that fun does not destroy my budget! How is it that a bottle of water costs $3 when you are out and about–talk about a massive mark up!
Tracy over at Having Fun Saving has some great tips on how to save at the movies. You guys will definitely want to check out this week’s Frugal Family Fun for Less.

I love taking my kids to the $1 movies during the summer. Sure they are old and have been seen a time or 2, but it gets them out of the house. I also bring my big purse and take our own drinks and candy, and then buy a popcorn to share. Usually at the theater we go to, they hand out coupons for Chick-fil-a afterward. The theater is in the mall. Here is a link to find a theater near you with the $1 summer movie program.

i missed this last year, but i am hoping to go this year! i heard that they fill up quickly? is that true? i see some movies that my kids LOVE. putting it on the calendar now…
They do because all the summer camps go there on field trips. At least here they do, so I highly suggest going early.
