A few months ago the folks at Sugardale emailed to let me know that their Bacon was now being stocked at Publix stores in Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia and South Carolina. They sent me a coupon for a free package so I happily checked it out. Let me tell you guys – I heart Sugardale Bacon!!

I am a creature of habit so whenever I need bacon I typically grab the brand my mom always made or maybe whatever I might have a coupon for. Now, I specifically search out the Sugardale on the shelf. It really is that good! I have a package in my fridge that I grabbed with a blinkie coupon a while back and it will be used in my Cheesy Jalapeño Popper Baked Stuffed Chicken recipe for next week. What I don’t use in my recipe will be cooked up and used in salads over the rest of the week. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

While Sugardale may be fairly new to Publix, they are not new to the bacon world. Sugardale Foods is a family owned business with nearly 100 years of bacon-making expertise. Sugardale uses a secret recipe and smokes the bacon over real hickory hardwood chips giving it an incredible flavor.  Oh that flavor – it is so good. Two varieties of bacon are currently available at Publix Super Markets:

• Regular Sliced Hickory Smoked (1lb)
• Extra Thick Hickory Smoked (1lb)

I highly recommend this recipe for Baked Beans. It is a huge hit at my house and a favorite to take to picnics and barbecues. They pan always comes home completely empty!!
