Weekly Totals 4/27 – Share Your Shopping Adventures

The week started off pretty good here but it is ending with my boys home from school with a stomach bug. Jake was affected the worse but seems to be on the mend. Luckily it wasn’t a terribly violent bug… but, any kind of sick is not fun if you ask me. We have watched a lot of cartoons and movies over the past two days and everyone is in a veg out mode at this point.

I probably needed these two days to catch up a bit. My inbox is clean, the laundry is done and my house is in pretty good shape too! Nice way to start out the weekend

As for shopping this week – I am just going to lay it out…I totally blew my budget this week! I did something that I really shouldn’t have done…I shopped just to shop! My pantries and freezers are filled to capacity! I probably have enough to cover meals for the next month or more. But, when four little $5/$30 Publix coupons showed up in my mailbox I just couldn’t resist –tee hee! Of course everything I bought will be used but there was certainly no rush. It is so hard to pass up FREE money!

So this week I spent about $88 on groceries. YIKES! But you will notice many of these items are pantry staples that will likely hang out for a few months until I need them. The only things I absolutely needed this week was the milk, bread and veggies. So I could have walked out of the store this week spending less than $15. Instead, I chose to use the free money and additional coupons to stock up on some items while they were a good deal. This is the reason I choose to average out my spending over an entire year. This week I spent double my budget but next week I will probably do very little shopping. It all balances out.
