So how many of you guys have picked up either of the new Expressions products from Glade? Both the Glade Expressions Oil Diffuser and Fragrance Mist are designed to help you combine style and fragrance. No more hiding your fragrance…the new line is stylish enough to be left out.
A couple of weeks ago I told you how one UPC code from your Glade Expressions package will get you access to the Glade Decor Book – a digital design guide. It is filled with great tips and lots of beautiful pictures for inspiration. I have taken advantage of the printable coupons and picked up several bottles of the Glade Expression Fragrance Mist for my house just last week. If you have used all of your printable coupons, be on the lookout for a great tearpad coupon at Publix for 50¢ off Glade Expressions.
So now that my house is smelling wonderful, I am using some of the tips from the Glade Decor book to make it look as good as it smells. I’ve already implemented a few of the tips. My house is on it’s way to a designer look without a designer price tag.
I would love for my home to look like the pictures out of the FREE Glade decor booklet. The problem is, I don’t always know where to start. Wouldn’t it be great if we had our own design consultant? Well, five lucky readers will get the next best thing! Simply submit your design dilemma in the form of a question and five of you guys will be selected for a Glade Guest Designer to answer your question.
Even better is that my winners will also receive Glade Product Prize Packages worth $50 AND one grand prize winner will also get a $150 Publix gift card to accompany their Glade Product package.
To enter, just leave your design question in the comments below. I know some of you have questions – so bring them on. I am looking forward to learning from the designers as well. I will announce the winners and post the responses from the designer in April.

Moving into a house that needs to be remodeled from top to bottom. Roof, siding, ceiling, flooring, kitchen, bathroom, everything. Also throwing out most of our furniture before we move in because after 3 kids, it’s all pretty shabby. We’re looking at a long expensive project, so I’d love to win!!
My husband and I married in our 40s, so we were both well trenched in what we liked and didn’t like. Each of us had furniture that the other didn’t like (I did manage to donate his blue leather couch to my stepson:)). After putting it all together, there are only 2 rooms in the house that both of us like. We desperately need some help in the family room where we spend most of our time.
Is there a certain way to lay out my furniture so it appears each room flows together? Would also like some tips on how to arrange things to make the space look more open.
I’m trying to redo my living room in blues. How many different shades of blue can I use in one room?

I am a vintage junkie. Everything and anything that is vintage (or even just has a vintage feel!), I just have to have it, especially anything mint or sea foam green-colored.
My dilemma is, my house is starting to look like a thrift store. I absolutely love my vintage baubles, but I’m not sure how to display them properly without everything looking cluttered.
I’d love some direction, and some out-of-the-box ideas on displaying my vast collection of vintage knick-knacks, doodabs, kitsch, tchotchkes and..well..you get the point. I’m very into DIY and just love everything out of the norm, so I’m hoping I will be able to get some fun, creative, and edgy ideas to spark my design inspiration!
I have a sliding glass door in my living room. The light coming in overwhelms the room completely. When I put up curtains or blinds, it’s just a big blob of fabric or whatever cover I put over it. It is 6ft wide and stands out no matter what I do with it. How do I make the door and bright light less noticeable without it being an ugly elephant in the room?
We have a small room that we use as a computer room & as my scrapbook room. Any tips on how to organize the most effective way to make the space serve both purposes?
How can I remodel my home as a green home without spending a fortune?
The living space (kitchen, dining room and living room ) in our home is one large room (14 x 36′) downstairs. The front door opens at the front of the room, the sliding glass door and entry to the patio is on the outside wall (in the “2nd” section back) and the kitchen is in the rear. How do we manage the space so we feel like we have three defined spaces?
My husband and I got married about three years ago and everything we bought and registered for is BROWN. I need some help with adding some color and life to our space. We also have a lot of hand-me-down furniture that is mismatched. We could definitely use some new pieces or some help refinishing/recovering them to make them cohesive.

We have a small house with an open floor plan (living room, dining room and kitchen all in the same area). The biggest wall is in the dining room section and I would love to put something on the wall, but the digital thermostat box is right in the middle of the wall (AND right at eye level). I know I can’t cover it, because it would not be able to register the temperature so the AC would kick on when it getting too hot inside. It’s not a huge box, but I feel like putting anything on that wall will just make it more noticeable… at the same time, it’s pretty obvious right now in the middle of the wall! Help!

I have a rather large living room and the space can be awkward for furniture. The entryway of the home is in the living room and there is a very large window along the same wall. This makes for very little actual space for a couch! For now, we have a love seat in the corner and a rocking chair, but that is simply not enough sitting area for all of us! What can we do to encompass and utilize ALL of our living space without leaving so much “dead” space and having so few places to sit?
We moved into our home about 7 years ago and we have had a problem since day one.
The living room is a large room, however there are 4 entry ways into the room. One, from outside, second, from the guest bath/bedrooms, third, from the patio, and fourth, from the dinning room.
The placement of the furniture is a big problem. HELP! Where do I put the sofas, chairs, etc? The one wall that is large enough has the TV against it. I think the living room looks like a giant area with chairs/sofas surround it.
thanks for any assistance.
My design dilemma is that all of our paint in our house is white along with all of our cabinets and doors. The house was built 18 years ago, and back then that was the fresh style. Everything is so plain and blah, and we always joke saying that the only time of the year our house looks really good is when our holiday decorations our up! I know that we need to add color to our walls and maybe even cabinetry, but we do not want every wall of every room to be the same color. What is the best way to choose a paint color scheme that will brigten up our house but allow some contrast among our different rooms? We do have an open floor plan with one really large dining room when you first walk in that leads right to our kitchen, so what ever we choose does need to go together somewhat. Please help us come up with an idea to brighten up the walls and rooms of our house.
We have a 6 year old son and we use his room both for himself as well as keeping our desk in there for our use as well since we live in a very small apartment. The problem is that his room is constantly overflowing, although we purge and donate regularly. He is at the stage where he doesn’t really play with his kitchen/train table, but won’t get rid of either. How do we transition his room to be the more grown up things he wants, but keep it a kids room? I feel like if we get rid of the stuff he wants to hang onto, it won’t be a little boys room anymore.
We are getting ready to remodel two bathrooms (at the same time-yikes!)
What is the latest design direction for tile options? we would like to have a spa-like feeling without being too trendy…

How do you lighten up or add color to a room with all brown leather furniture. I do not want to replace our furniture but I am ready for some more color in the room.
My bedding and curtains are chocolate brown. My dresser and nightstand are white. The rug is a blend of browns/neutrals. I want to paint the walls a frosty light blue and add a few lavendar accessories – bed pillows, lamp shade, throw on bed. I saw the same color scheme except the walls were lavendar and the accessories were frosty light blue.
Do you think the color scheme would still work if I reverse the wall and accessories colors? Thank you for your help!
I have a dropped ceiling that I hate, what other choices do I have?
My living room and dining room are one big open room. Three years ago we had carpet pulled up and refininshed the original hardwood floors in the living room. We had tile laid in the dining room……my dilemma is that they used thick durock under the tile and did not put any type of divider down. The tile is not straight (we had requested it to curve)and it is VERY noticiable that it is ALOT higher than the hardwood. The company that originally laid the tile has gone out of business and noone wants to try to tackle a CURVED threshold!!!!! What do we do now????
WOW. where do I start?! My house has no flow or real design! How do you create a design that flows through your house on a budget?
THANKS!!!
Do you have any suggestion on how to maximize the space in our small apartment so we don’t actually have to keep stacking things on top of each other to make enough room for our things? I’d love to add decorations to our place but was afraid it would be too much for our already tight space.
My apartment livingroom has a large glas sliding door with vertical blinds that I can NOT replace. They are white just like the walls. Is it better to leave it as is so that they almost blend into the wall or should I put up drapes and sort of draw attention to the slider? I live on the first floor I keep the blinds mostly closed all the time.
I am having a problem pulling my living room together and making it look cohesive. Another problem is the clutter. My mother lives with me now, so she spends a lot of time in there so her things are sometimes n there along with my sons and there is little to no extra storage!! I really like the Hollywood glamour/ art deco look but am having a hard time achieving it in a budget!! Help!!

I live on the beach and would love to give my home a beachy feel without having a beach theme. Is there any way to do that?
I have tongue and groove pine walls in my dining room, which actually weren’t bad until we removed the carpet and refinished the red oak floors- now the woods are clashing. What would you do?
I got married last fall, and I am looking for a creative way to display our wedding pictures. I would like to do something different than the norm. I am getting a canvas print and have several frames but am wanting to do something more. The pictures so beautifully display our special day, and I would just love a way to display them that is unique. Thanks so much for your help!!
I love to get ready for my shopping trip in the family room spending time with my kids. I hate to LUG the file cabinet back and forth. I keep all my inserts in a milk crate standing up. What can i use to store them that would not such an eye sore. i want to keep them in the family room.
All my walls are cream colored or white. I am afraid to add color and paint them. How do I even begin? Should I just paint one wall, or should I paint all the walls in a room? Should I try painting a ceiling first and see how I adjust to that? Should I take baby steps and try a chair rail and border maybe in a small room otherwise? Or stenciling? I want to try something but not sure where to even begin!
1. How can I design my office space so that I can be more productive? Is there a certain color I should paint the walls? Any type of furniture to use, or should the furniture be arranged in a specific way?
2. Many of the rooms in my home contain popcorn ceilings, which seems to attract dust. Is there a simple way to remove it? If so, what can be done to replace it and make the ceiling look better?

As part of our front rectangular windows, we have semicircle tops to the windows. It is one window, but divided into two elements. The semicircle at the top is not totally a round though…the sides of the circle start as straight on each side. We have blinds in the lower portion of the rectangular part, but nothing on top. We have yet to find any window treatment to work there. We don’t want to loose the shape of the window by putting up a straight window treatment above it….what can we do design wise??
What’s your favorite neutral paint color? My husband and I have different tastes. We don’t want white walls, but we’re never going to agree on a bold color. Suggestions??? Thanks!
