I wish the gas card deal would come back already!

    • Rachel says:

      I agree!!!

    • Kim says:

      BIG TIME!

    • Rachel C. says:

I was toldl by a Publix corporate officer (after complaining because Alabama had not gotten it in forever) that we would see it in March with some slight modifications. Obviously that was NOT true.

      Great week otherwise, though!!

    • Elisabeth says:

I heard from someone who works in the corporate lakeland office that I shouldn’t expect to see the gas deal again anytime soon. Evidently the gas companies who footed most of the $10 off didn’t think it would be so popular and Publix is having a hard time getting the gas companies to pay Publix what they own them. Sad, but I had a feeling…

  2. Samantha says:

Me too! I seem to be eating off of my stockpile, and have not spent much in the last three weeks at all. I have cleaning supplies, and even makeup and personal items in huge quantities…lol. Love saving money. And NOT having to shop. Though, iheartpublix.com makes it soooo easy to save at Publix. Thanks again. t

  7. Joy says:

I’m excited for the bogo cool whip, but I just wish the strawberries were still 3/$5!

  8. Sarah says:

There is a $1/2 Starburst Jelly Beans coupon on Target.com (store coupon) and in the past few weeks inserts, there was a $1/2 MQ. I think there was a Hellman’s coupon is this past week’s RP.

  9. angie says:

  15. Kristin says:

Much better week for me!! Looking forward to pineapple, Gevalia coffee and a good time to get my Easter Ham with the Enjoy the City coupons I just got!

  16. Terri says:

There was a $1 of any Hellman’s Product 16.5 oz or larger in RP 3/25/2012, at least in my paper Birmingham News

  17. Mary says:

No pet food deals this week? That stinks!

  18. Jackie says:

I can’t find the Target BOGO coffeemate coupon. Anyone else?

  19. Carolyn Cusack says:

Silly question how do you print the del monte coupon? Having trouble figuring this one out. thanks

  20. Trish says:

There’s a $1/1 Hellman’s Product (16.5 oz or larger) exp 4/22/12–I don’t know which insert it was from, though. I’m thinking it was pretty recent. Makes for a good deal on the mayonnaise!!

  21. Shawn says:

I don’t see the Keebler Townhouse Cracker coupon, anyone else?

  22. Jamilla says:

$1.50/2 Mars Seasonal Products coupon in April’s ALL YOU (for Dove Chocolate deal).

I didn’t see the Nestle Coffeeemate Creamer coupon on Target’s website. Must already be gone :-(

  25. Brittany says:

    JUICY JUICE BOGO!!!!!!

    • April says:

I know, and there was a Nestle flier that you had to request by mail a while back that has a $1/2 MQ that is only good at Publix that will make this even better!

  26. nyna says:

There was also a Target coupon for Craisins $1/2 to pair with the ones from Parenting and Family Fun

  27. Lori M says:

Wow, going to be busy pulling q’s for this great ad! Thanks for all you do to help us save Michelle! HAPPY SHOPPING EVERYONE!

  28. Melanie C. says:

Am I reading this right or is it a typo? Juicy Juice 64oz at BOGO 2.75? That would make it 1.38 for each bottle. I think I’ll buy the store out at that price!

  29. Kristin says:

If your Publix considers Whole foods a competitor there is a $.55 off Alexia coupon on their website you can stack with the Man. Coupon

  30. Rachael says:

Is it just me or have there not been very many good q’s to match the sales? I haven’t been to Publix in 3 weeks! It’s a great sale this week, but the lack of good q’s makes it not worth it for me (I have to drive 45 min.). Thanks for posting Michelle :)

  31. Mrs. R says:

Cheap coffee! Just ordered some coupons for it off Ebay. :)

  32. shopping Bird says:

Wow. I’m starting to feel like Publix is using Florida like a test market for Publix to see just how much money a metro area in America is willing to pay for groceries (as in, what’s the most we can charge them and still get them to buy). Here are just three items I notice off the bat that are seem way higher here in Florida than in the prices used here from the metro Atlanta area. Are there any other Floridians that feel like Publix has gone crazy with prices lately. And… we never ever get double coupons or penny items.

General Mills Cereal BOGO is $4.09 in Atlanta, and $5.15 in SE FL (approx 25% higher)
Kelloggs Cereal BOGO $3.79 Atlanta, and $4.39 in SE FL. (approx 14% higher)
Ragu BOGO is $2.09 Atlanta, and $2.67 in SE FL. (nearly 30% higher)

With a 9.6% unemployment rate our area, this is just insanity. Publix has literally driven me to actively seek out and find other places to shop that are more affordable, even with super deals using multiple coupons, bogos, etc. I’ve been to Aldi’s twice in past 10 days and can’t believe (1) how easy and relaxing it is to shop there (no calculations and deals to figure out), and (2) how much cheaper their produce is than Publix ever is. I really like Publix, but I can’t give my money away when food is cheaper down the street.

    • Allison says:

I coupon so I can shop at Publix. I always thought Publix was higher than other grocery stores and didn’t shop there.

However, BOGO with a coupon at Publix (even if not doubled) will be cheaper than Aldi. I also buy produce at Aldi (love their prices) but never buy cereal there and I rarely buy produce at Publix because of the price. Publix will be cheaper for the cereal with BOGO with a coupon, so I only buy then and stock up. I think that prices will only increase as the economy worsens, as Publix is a business.

Couponing has changed how I shop for groceries, with multiple stores for sale items, stocking up at rock bottom prices. This has included Aldi for produce and Publix and Bi-lo for BOGO and coupon sales items. Aldi is still higher than Publix with a BOGO/coupon in most cases, so I only buy what I can’t get that week cheaper. Because the economy is bad, grocery shopping takes more time.

      • shopping Bird says:

I sure do agree with you about the cereals being cheaper at Publix with bogo and coupon stacking. i also noticed some Aldi’s brand items that are still super deals there, but would be a rarity at Publix (with these crazy Florida prices).

1 lb shredded mozzarella cheese only $2.99 at Aldi’s, everyday.

Mama Cozzi’s pizzas, frozen and unfrozen from deli – just cheaper than the deals I have been finding for Freschetta, Red Baron, etc.

        Dozen lg eggs, $1.29

        Raisins, 15 oz box, $1.79

        • Maria says:

I just bought a gallon of milk for $2.89. They have the best produce prices. Also hot dog and hamburger buns are always .99

    • Samantha says:

I SOOOOOOOOOOO agree with you on this subject. A friend of mine in Texas and I compare prices all of the time, granted she doesn’t have Publix, but in general it seems we pay way more than the average person for everything. I also agree with using Aldi’s because even with the deals Publix is more expensive sometimes. It’s frustrating with our economy and the cost of living here, we never seem to great a break. Wish there was something we could do besides move….haha!

      • shopping Bird says:

Unfortunately, moving out of Florida is becoming an option that is moving up on my list of priorities — simply for financial survival. Crazy! My prop taxes and home insurance have increased to over $5K per year (w/o HOA dues, etc. – and we live in a modest, ungated family community). Add in all the other stuff, like A/C that runs pretty much 12 months a year now (since the winters have heated up quite a bit over past 5 years), $4 gas, etc.

        I’m thinking: Alabama, Georgia, Colorado.

        • April says:

Alabama prices on groceries (at least in Tuscaloosa) are more expensive than what GA prices are-usually $0.10 to $0.50 each item)….but were are not even close to some of those prices y’all posted from FL. WOW!!!

          • angela says:

Yes, our prices here in Bama are in line with FL prices. I have to compare IHP prices to addictedtosaving.com’s prices listed for the sales because that site lists FL prices rather than ATL. at my store in Bham the bertolli frozen soup, for instance is $3 higher than what it sells for at the ATL publix. ridiculous.

        • Lana says:

My next door neighbors were in the process of moving to south Florida and changed their minds before their house was finished being built as they saw the high cost of living there. We are so glad they came to SC! They are the best neighbors we have ever had.

        • Mrs. Legends says:

We’re in Gainesville, and I noticed that Florida prices are much higher, and we don’t get doubles on coupons, no penny items, and less competitors accepted in general. My publix has a target 500 feet away, literally in the same shopping complex, and they don’t consider them a competitor. We’ve considered moving too.

        • Dee says:

Make sure you compare what salaries are when you add in state income tax – Florida and Texas do NOT have a state income tax – makes a big difference.

I also live in SE Florida – it’s amazing how high food prices are, especially when you add the low salaries and high cost of housing (homeowners insurance, property taxes, etc.). And yes – I don’t think we turned off our A/C more than a few days this past winter.

We’d move but it’s next to impossible to sell one’s house in this market.

Shopping with coupons has become very time consuming, even with all I save. And I have to let a lot of deals go because it’s just to much to find all the coupons, plot out the stores to hit and hope they have the items in stock. Especially since everyone else is chasing the same deals.

That being said – this site has probably saved me close to %50 of my previous grocery totals so a big thanks to Michele! I’d be in real trouble without the matchups and coupon links.

          Michele – IHeartYou!!!!!!!

      • Summer says:

I notice the same thing about Walmart prices vs those listed on a blog out of Texas, our prices are always higher.

    • Shari says:

If only there were an Aldi in Tallahassee!!!

    • Lana says:

Even if you don’t buy anything else at Aldi it is worth it to go for the produce alone. Publix nor any other store in town can touch their prices. My store sells tons of produce so it is always very fresh. Their milk and eggs are 50 cents cheaper too.

    • Stephanie W says:

Right. I find it beyond ridiculous that Cheez-Its are $4.19 a box in Tallahassee.

      • Mel says:

Fingers crossed that our Tally Publix’s will start to recognize Target as a competitor now that they are finishing up their new grocery side in the Parkway store…anyone heard anything about that?

        • Stephanie W says:

All I know is all the other Publix stores in town don’t accept Target as a competitor. THey accept Winn Dixie, Harvey’s Earth Fare and…get this…Fresh Market. FM doesn’t even put out coupons!!

          • Mel says:

So I went to the Publix on Park and Blairstone last night and they said they don’t accept Harvey’s as a competitor anymore…I used a Harvey’s coupon there last week! I don’t know if that’s going to be all the Publix’s in the area or just that particular one :(

    • steve says:

I’ve noticed the higher prices in north florida. Also, we almost always have lower coupon values than I see in other areas. I’ve not been so pleased with Publix’s produce and dairy lately. Vegetables and fruits spoil quickly and milk goes bad way before expiration. No Aldi here either!

    • Leah Brooks says:

It costs a lot of money to drive a big truck full of food all the way down to South FL. Thus, we pay more for our groceries.

    • Rebecca says:

Yes, I’m in Florida & I feel your pain!

  33. stephanie martin says:

Printable coupon $1/1 for the Rondele cheese spread

  34. Carter says:

There was a manuf coupon for Craisins on the back of my boxes of Kellogg’s Smart Start. I think it was $0.75.

  35. George says:

I noticed the Kozy Shack pudding coupon has a date of 7/12 is this not out byet or is the date not right?????

  36. wendyc33 says:

I wish their was sabra hummus coupons. I love the spicy kind, it taste like a bean dip. yum. I also know their was .50/1 box of the lucky charms coupons on some site. I know i still have that coupon. Never tried the gevalia coffee. Is this a good coffee? Anyone try this?

    • shopping Bird says:

We like hummus a lot in this house. Favorite: Cool veggie sandwich with hummus on 12-grain bread (just like Tropical Smoothie Cafe, but better at home).

If you live near an Aldi’s, you can grab their’s for $1.69 everyday, so still cheaper than BOGO at Publix. I’ve only had the garlic lovers flavor…. very good… nicely blended and texture.

      • Dee says:

A can or two of chick peas, some tahini (sesame paste) or a little olive oil, clove of garlic, lemon, whatever spices or stuff like olives you like, and mix in food processor or blender until smooth –

        Homemade hummus! YUM!

(what takes the longest amount of time is cleaning after…)

    • Summer says:

I love the Sabra spicy too, but I buy the plain individual packs. I’m the only one in the house that likes it and I can’t eat it fast enough otherwise.

  37. Jennifer says:

Don’t forget about the $5 off of $50 from Sunday’s paper.

    • Amy says:

Dont forget you can stack it with the $5 off $50 GFS from ‘Enjoy the City’ book.

      • Teresa says:

You can stack it? My Publix will not stack a Publix and a Winn Dixie

        • mizzy says:

they should, it’s in their printed coupon policy that’s on the display rack.

          • Deborah says:

They dont stack, what the policy says is that you may use 1 Publix + 1 competitor for $$ off on the same transaction as long as the amount of your purchase equals or exceeds the amounts of both coupons together.

To clarify: I you have a Publix $5 off of $30 and a Winn Dixie $5 off of $30, you will be able to use both only if your purchase is $60+; whereas, in the good ol’ times I used both discount coupons on a $30 transaction, that was great stacking!

  38. sandi says:

where’s the pets this week? not a good week.

  39. Corin says:

GYI… the reynold’s coupon was $2.50/1 200 sqft roll when I looked under zip 12345

  40. Jennifer says:

Love Publix – I don’t shop anywhere else for food, and yes, I live in Florida. You can’t beat their quality, cleanlieness and service. Love the BOGOs this week too! I don’t even bother with WD and their fuelperks. Shell is 20 cents higher than the other stations, so by the time you get the perks, you’re paying the same price at the pump.

    Thanks for the sneak peek!

    • Cindy says:

Thanks Michelle, it looks like a great week!

As another Floridian, I agree, I used to go to Winn Dixie sometimes to get the fuel perks, but the dirtiness of the store and the rudeness of the employees was just cringe-worthy. Plus I really think Winn Dixie is more expensive. They raise the prices of their fuel perk items so it really isn’t a deal you pay more for the groceries and get a discount on the gas. And their meat is just awful.

    • Summer says:

I look at the WD ad every week, but I’ve only seen anything worth stopping in about 5 times in the last year. They used to have decent deals but the sales went way downhill.

  41. Maria says:

Thank you for posting Michelle…looks like a good wk.

  42. laureen says:

Every now and then walgreens has a sale on coke products and there is a coupon in the ad that i think is a mfr cpn. Is it possible to use that at publix or is this one of those “talk to customer service” questions?

  43. Gery says:

    Good week for me!!! Thanks.

  44. April says:

For those of us who bought Lipton tea the last time it was bogo, check your boxes inside the lid for a $0.50/1 MQ. I had one in each of mine! Will make for a great deal on some more tea!

  45. Melissa says:

If your sale starts on the 28th there should be a publix coupon for $1.50 off the hellmans mayo I think that would make it free and a small MM

  46. GINA says:

Do you have to purchase anything additional to get the $30 itunes card for $5.00?

  47. rene says:

we have been very lucky in jacksonville, fl with $5/$30 coupons in the mail almost every week since february. It helps alot.

  48. Carol says:

There was an ocean spray coupon “Buy any 1 64oz cranberry juice, Get 1 64oz Cherry Juice Free” (expires 3/29)… Do you think that one would work for the Ocean Spray BOGO deal?

  49. April says:

    My list will not print.

  50. Karen says:

I was able to get $1/3 Juicy Juice products coupon from the Juicy Juice website.

  51. Jen says:

I love publix and their customer service, but the deals just haven’t been that great lately, not worth the 40 minute drive to only buy a handful of items each week. If they could lower their prices to a more competitive pricing, I would just do all my shopping there instead of hopping around to 4 or 5 different stores, very frustrated lately :(

    • Leah Brooks says:

The coffee deal this week is wonderful!

    • Carey says:

Usually with Publix, the several weeks before a major holiday the deals aren’t awesome, but then the week before (in this case Easter)there is a very deal heavy ad. Keep in mind, Publix is an upscale grocery store. They are selling an experience. They keep more staff, pay them more, and work hard to keep a clean and organized store, which is reflected in their prices. They will never be my main store because their full prices are way too high but they are great for couponing their deals. I will always have to fill the gaps at Walmart.

      • Melanie says:

        Well said!

        • Teri says:

Just my two cents. Once you learn how to shop Publix, they blow WalMart out of the water on prices and quality. Using competitor coupons is really key along with the BOGO sales, and stocking up. I have not been inside of a WalMart in months and months. I actually am shopping at Whole Foods now with the money I am saving. I now can afford organic dairy and super fresh seafood. I still go to the Publix produce department…I really have never not found flys and bugs at my WalMart produce department. Went to purchase bananas a while back..and they were covered with some sorta little black buggy thing. The manager really seemed to care less…walked back by a few minutes later and the bananas were still out for sale…bugs and all.

          • MoneyManagingMom says:

I agree with Teri. Walmart is a money pit. If I have to fill in the gaps I go with my hometown grocery store, or even Kroger. I choose to buy all of my meat at the smaller store in my town bc the prices are much lower. However, I can usually get everything else at Publix if I use the coupons to my advantage and stock up when things are dirt cheap. I just don’t think you can beat them. Stacking their yellow and green ads with manu coupons or even competitor coupons makes them hard to beat. I do agree that the deals haven’t been quite as good as they were, say, a year ago…but still worth the trip for me.

          • Jan Powell says:

Unfortunately where I live, the only competitor that ours acknowledges is Winn-Dixie. I have to fill in with Wal-Mart because of the lack of competitor coupons. Not to mention we do not get “good” manufacturer coupons in our Sunday papers. Since extreme couponing has been showing, you just about have to be at Publix when they open daily to grab any of their store coupons (which they keep behind the counter and do not always give out “all” of the coupons they have in stock at that time). When I see all of the $$ you guys are saving it makes me ill. I know it would be possible for me if I was in a better area. Congrats to you guys!!!

      • melissa says:

I hate walmart but unfortunately they are the alternative when you have no other choice. I’ve never had a good experience in any walmart its like a herd of cattle going through. I love publix and you’re right its the whole shopping experience and once you have been to publix its really hard to shop anywhere else .

      • Cindy says:

I know you all will probably think this is pretty funny, but what I like most about our Publix in Sebring is their shopping carts. Walmart’s carts are so-o-o awful. Half broken, wheels that won’t roll or bump like crazy, and always full of the last persons garbage. In contrast, Publix carts are always clean and well maintained. And their personal employee assistance with bagging my groceries and offering to help me to my vehicle is top notch service in my book.

        • tampatwinmom says:

love this- so true I hate at walmart I am afraid of putting my baby in the cart! If I have to go to one I drive 20 min to the “good” one instead of the 3 10 min away

    • JoAnn says:

Jen, For some reason you think Publix should be lower 100% of the time on every product. NO STORE will be lower 100% of the time, not Walmart, not Target, not Winn-Dixe and so on. At $4/gal of gas, if you think driving to 4-5 stores is worth not only your time but also your money, than go for it. You’re wasting both and if I have to pay 10 cents more on an an item, I really don’t care because in the long run, I’ll be ahead of the game.

      JoAnn

      • Sheila says:

JoAnn, I’m sure you don’t mean to, but you sound very defensive. Jen’s comments were not directed at you. What works for some, may not work for others. Just please try to soften your comments a bit.

  52. Kanika says:

I saw an Oscar Mayer beef frank q on the Target website. Is that q valid for the upcoming sale?

  55. nicole says:

Nothing pet-related on sale this week? Or did I overlook it?

    • Crystal says:

Good point, I didn’t even realize that. There must be something on sale for pets, I’m hoping for Beggin Strips

      • Allison says:

My Publix in Alabama had Beggin Strips on Clearance…with peelies that were $2 off per pack (manufacturer), which I stacked with a store coupon (Target or Winn Dixie – can’t recall) and paid about $1.50 per bag for 10 oz. Not bad at all for Beggin Strips

        • Crystal says:

Thanks for the heads up, Allison!

        • veronica says:

dollar general has off brand beggin strips right next to the beggin strips with the EXACT same ingredients!!! couldn’t believe it, EXACT down to the percentages of ingredients, check it out. $1.50 a bag.

  65. Crystal says:

Can anyone clarify something for me with the Hallmark coupon–
It says “must purchase three cards from Hallmark ($2.00 minimum required) to get $2.00 off” and later says “on purchase of any three…from Hallmark greeting cards totaling $2.00 or more.” Does this mean the price of the cards needs to be $2.00 ea or higher, or just that the three cards should total $2.00 or more? I am reading it the second way, but I find it hard to believe that three cards could be less than $2.00 total. This could be a MM if it was valid with $.99 cards…

    • lisa says:

You have to purchase 3 crads that total $2.00 (not $2.00 each) and yes you can use it on the .99 cent cards. So if you were lucky enough to grab a coupon and get the .99 cent cards and stack with the publix coupon (these are also in the card isle as tear pads) then you would make money. I work for Hallmark in Publix.

  66. Allison says:

There is a Target coupon for $2 off 3 cards (must be more than $1) so you can stack = ) Gotta love stacking!

  67. Karla says:

  84. JennC says:

I’m still confused about the new coupon policy when it comes to the Publix BOGO items. For instance, with Hellmann’s on BOGO this week, can I still use TWO manufacturer coupons? What about the Ocean Spray Juice…use two or only one of the BOGO manufacturer printables? Thank you to anyone who can help!

    • Katie says:

Yes, you can still use two coupons because you are buying 2 items. You can use one bogo coupon to get 2 ocean spray juices and you will pay nothing for that! If you use 2 bogo coupons, you have to buy four.

  85. Sarah says:
