Weekly Totals 2/24

I had a great shopping week. I finally feel like I am back in the swing of things. It was nice to have a car full of groceries without spending a ton of money!
I got a ton of meats, paper products and stocked up on canned goods too! While this was not the best Italian Days sale ever, I still managed to get my year supply of canned mushrooms. I also have plans to hit the sale one more time before it ends, so look for more next week.

Thank you for posting a “normal” shopping trip… I’ve read a few blogs/friend’s posts that tend to “stack” their trip. For example saying that they only spent $6, and saved over $100, but they never buy fresh meat, produce, household products, etc. It’s refreshing to see an honest post about saving money, but still getting the products needed to feed a family.
Your Publix doesn’t allow you to combine the $x/$xx as long as your total equals or exceeds the $xx amount? Mine does and I’m soooo thankful for that, especially since I have to shop with my 3yr old.
These last two sales have really been super for me. I’m stocked up so good I don’t have any place left to hide anything. LOL!
My bill came to 192.13, but I only spent 47.84! One of my best trips yet, and I have a huge variety of items.
I’m sorry but I have to share this after seeing that you got a bunch of canned mushrooms. I was reading an article on yahoo the other day about gross things in foods, and the number one thing was canned mushrooms. It says that ” the FDA allows 19 maggots AND 74 mites for every 3.5 oz can of mushroom.” I almost threw up reading it. You can search “The 5 Grossest Things You’re Eating- Yahoo Article.”
gross………………………………………………………. Ill rembeber to never eat mushrooms again unless I buy them fresh restaurants could be serving that…………………………………………..
On another note would the following be a good deal worth going in to get stuff even though your over budget: 4 gerber yogurt 10.00, 6 hot pockets 10.00 , 5 bananas @ 1.50 appr., kraft bread crumb things 4.00 = 25.50 -10.00 on yogurt -2.00 on hot pockets -4.00 on kraft and -5.00 winn dixie
oop=4.50 mind you my pantry is stocked I feel like Ok we might not see these kind of prices for awhile.
They also say the same thing about peanut butter abd ketchup, but what can be done? I just try not to think about it=)
Does anyone ever have extra 5/30 or anything like that for publix???? would love to trade as I NEVER get these in my paper!! Please let me know.

My moneymaker–I ran in for a quick sweep of this week’s deals as we headed to our GA mountain home in the wee hrs Friday (no Publix near here!). I was disappointed that the ICBINB wasn’t a moneymaker–even though it was cheap after MF’s and Tgt coupons I left it; not my brand. However, my husband’s Total Defense antiperspirant was on clearance for 1.25. My $3.00 off of two(x2) made me a dollar total! Also used the $2 off deli from the Tampa trib last Sunday, $5 off $30 from Winn Dixie and the free milk wyb three breakfast items. Woo hoo, saved way more than I spent!
