I am so excited to tell you about my absolute favorite thing right now for my kids – Kidfresh!
I am going to be honest with you guys, when the folks at Kidfresh approached me asking if I would be interested in trying their products I was a little hesitant. I am not a huge fan of frozen prepackaged meals. They are typically not the most healthy choices out there. Having struggled with my weight my whole life, I work very hard to make good choices for my kids in hopes they will avoid the food issues that I have (and am still) dealing with.
You guys know me….I cook. Lunches and dinners for the boys are real food that I have made in my kitchen. When I cook and prepare meals I can make sure the boys are getting healthy proteins, fruits and veggies. However, I am a mom and that means that some days my time is stretched so thin I can barely get half of what needs to get done each day! There are definitely times when I wish I had easy HEALTHY meals that I could have on the table without massive time spent in the kitchen.
The first thing I did when I got the Kidfresh meals was look at the package. Guess what? I could pronounce everything in the ingredient list! Check out the ingredients in the Rainbow Chicken + Rice…it is almost all of the stuff I would use if I were cooking MY chicken and rice!!
Brown and White Rice, Cooked Chicken Breast (White Chicken Breast with Rib Meat, Water, Potato Starch, Sea Salt), Water, Peas, Carrots, Corn, Chicken Broth, Onions, Evaporated Cane Juice, Sea Salt, Corn Starch, Canola Oil.
Of course the true test is the taste. My little Jeb-a-doo is in afternoon preschool, so we eat lunch here at the house everyday before running to school. I decided to let him try them out. He is a huge fan of spaghetti so I let him try the Totally Twisted Pasta + Meatballs. Before I gave it to him, I tasted it. Oh my… it was delicious, I knew he was going to love it. Sure enough, Jeb ate every single bite (and it was a very large portion – 7.6 ounces)!! I was so thrilled that he loved it and even more thrilled that it contained 33% of the recommended allowance of veggies in that one serving. There were tomatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots and more in that one meal!
Skip to a few days later, I decided to try out the Rainbow Rice. I am going to admit something to you guys…I ate my child’s food–tee hee. I heated the meal and took a bite. It was so good I took another bite…next thing I know I had finished off the entire meal 
Luckily there was a box of the Spaghetti Loops Bolognese in the freezer. So I heated it up and gave it to Jeb. He ate that entire package and asked for more. He actually started crying when I told him there was no more available.
The folks at Kidfresh did extensive consumer testing with moms and kids and then hired a top chef and a pediatric nutritionist to put a innovative twist on kids’ favorite meals. Let me just tell you…they got it right! I am very excited to have this as an option for my kids AND my crazy life.

How wild that you would put this up today. At Publix this afternoon, I actually looked at these products, remembering a free coupon offer from a while back. I never did find the stuff for the coupon then, so I spent a few minutes looking over the packaging. My little guy was definitely most interested in the mac & cheese, but I skipped buying it for now. It would be awesome to win another chance at trying it for free!
I can tell you without a doubt my 6 yr old will be all over that Wagon Wheels Mac and Cheese like white on rice. Lol. She’d eat Mac & Cheese 3 squares 7 days a week if she could.
My littlest midget would get twisted about the Totally Twisted Pasta and Meatballs.
She does love her chicken. Being, that ALL meat is chicken. And sometimes even things that aren’t even meat, are still chicken.

On Wednesdays I keep two of my grandchildren (ages 4 and 5) and shuttle the 5 year old back and forth to kindergarten – then at the end of the day after having fun playing with them all day when I drop them off at their home, I also send a home cooked meal for everyone’s dinner that evening. It’s such a struggle not knowing if my grandchildren will approve of what I’ve made for dinner but if I could also send two healthy nutritious frozen meals for them just in case they hate Granny’s dinner, that would be fabulous. And with the healthy list of ingredients I feel their mom would approve too! I think they’d like any of them but the pasta & meatballs and mac and cheese would probably be their all time favorites.

I just heard about these yesterday on the radio and was SUPER excited to find out more about them. I am a daycare mom and these sound exactly like what I would feed my daycare kids and my own kids. Sounds like something I prepare daily anyways. My daughter would love the rainbow rice and my son would love the muy cheese quesedillas. I am so happy there is FINALLY a frozen food product that I would not feel bad about feeding to my kid. It would be so nice to finally have something I could fix when I run out of time. We like the spaghetti loops bolognese and the Rainbow Rice and Chicken. I have a kid with a severe milk allergy. These are a very convenient alternative. Many of these ready made meals are packed with preservatives and milk fillers.

Totally twisted pasta and quesadillla.

I’m pretty sure my little Gracie will love the Spaghetti Loops Bolognese. When we have spaghetti for dinner, she just can’t get enough! And this actually seems good for her so I am totally excited!
