Weekly Totals 4/15

April 15, 2011

 Weekly Totals 4/15Who wants to give me a hip hip hooray it’s FRIDAY?!  I am in desperate need of a vacation! Each week I think I will catch up and then each week flies by and I am ever further behind! I guess I should just accept the fact that I am never ever going to be able to get caught up. Ah well…there is always tomorrow–right? icon biggrin Weekly Totals 4/15

I am pretty well stocked so I just grabbed what I needed for my week’s menu and a few extras. Luckily, I managed to stay right on budget!

Bell pepper = $1.92
Limes = $1
Cilantro = 99¢
Mushrooms = $1.99
Carrots = 99¢
Grapes = $2.26
Bananas = $1.90
Onions = $2.99
Toufayan Pita Bread = 65¢
Cumin = $1.99
Garlic Salt = $1.99
Onion Powder = $1.59
Garlic Powder = $1.99
Bread = 89¢
Milk = $3.19
Chobani Yogurt = $1.34
Goldfish Grahams (raincheck & $.35/1 IP’s) x 6 = $1.80
Coca Cola= $5.99
Snak Sac = $0 (free wyb coke)
Strawberries  x 2 = -$1.50 (two $5/1 coupons)
Feta cheese = $1.79
Donuts x 2 = $2.98
Tax $1.82

So this week I spent about $40 and saved around $15.  While my savings percentage is really small (about 28%) the fact that I was able to get everything I needed and stay within budget makes me smile.

    I only spent $50.09 this week and saved $57.86! Last week I spent $82.00 and saved $109.86! I’ve been couponing for about five months and these are the first two weeks I have saved more than I spent! I cleared a closet out completely last month so that I could start organizing my budding stockpile! To those who are just getting started and are frustrated by the big savings others post that you can’t seem obtain – just hang in there! You really do get better at it as you go!

    Oh, and I should mention that I am a fulltime caregiver to a disabled spouse. I only shop at Publix because I don’t have time to run around to other places. I know I could do a lot better if I had the time to shop at several stores. This website has been such a blessing!!!! Thank you so much!

  12. Rebecca Corley says:

    I’m new to the game but this week I saved 41%. And this food will last me for two weeks!! Thanks for your help!

  13. Erika says:

    I had two seperate trips to Publix this week and saved 54% on both trips. Not bad for all the cleaning items, spices, and products I needed to buy that didn’t have coupons. I also bought some thick cut Ribeyes since my husband was crving steak. He deserved it since he did a great job testing for a job in Kansas and has an interview in a couple of weeks! I can not get my site linked up, but here it is if anyone is interested =)
