“Snack”urday – Angel Food Cake

Snackurday 300x75 Snackurday Angel Food Cake

You know I always considered myself fairly competent cook…apparently I have so much to learn!!  Amanda emailed me her “Snack”urday recipe this week and when I read Angel Food Cake I had the immediate thought–are you serious??!!

I never even considered making an Angel Food Cake from scratch as I just assumed it was some crazy difficult ordeal that just wasn’t worth the effort!!  Boy was I wrong!!  Ok this one calls for six ingredients–and most of you will have every single one of these in your kitchen!!!

I am totally making this one this week–strawberries are a GREAT deal right now and I know my family would flip if I made an Angel Food Cake topped with strawberries!!  I also want to make it just to say that I made it from scratch!!

Go HERE and visit Amanda over at A Few Shortcuts to see how easy it is to make an Angel Food Cake from scratch.

    Hey there,

A little while ago there was a link to a site for chocolate chip bannana muffins. I was wondering where that was; I wanted to print the recipe.

    Thanks,
    Sandy

here’s a quick money maker that I used today, good for newbies. revlon nail files are 79 cents at my store in NE FL, and there are $1/1 mqs. I picked up 4 packs today (I’ll use some in my scrapbooking stuff). Also, muir glen tomato sauce, smallest can in the organic food section is 82 cents, I think, and there are $1/1 mqs and $1/2 store qs to stack with it. Also, stacking printable sundown naturals vitamin qs with the new $6/2 store q in the green flyer made me a little money, as I bought the $2.99 bottles. Free Bayer aspirin since they are 2/$3, and I had $3/2 mqs. Oh yeah, there are also $1/1 kraft cheese Target web qs that I stacked with my mqs to get almost free cheese. And, there’s another Target q that I asked my store to take and they did!! Its $1/2 nabisco crackers, but it only lists wheat thins and triscuits. i stacked that with the $1/2 mq that I had from a booklet to get those Toasted Cracker things that are bogo. not too shabby this week – spent $29, saved $59 ($35 was in qs)

I was raised on homemade angel food (it was the birthday cake when I was growing up) and you will never want the other again. I am more successful making chiffon cakes than angel food but I can always ask for angel food at my Mom’s house.

In all my years of baking, I have never tried an Angel Food cake…but I am now! Thanks Amanda!
