I thought I'd give you guys a little heads up on a little difference in how some deals will be written here on the site. I got an email from the folks at SavingStar asking that I stop "promoting stacking of SavingStar offers with other online or newspaper coupons."
I was honestly a little surprised as I didn't realize that I was doing anything wrong. I just assumed it was like all the other cash back options out there. You shop, you use coupons then at some point down the road you eventually & *hopefully* get your cash back.
So...I decided to check out the FAQs on the site and ran across this little tidbit:
So they aren't exactly telling you that you can't...but they just don't really want you to use them together
Anywho...since I got my hand slapped for unknowingly suggesting that you use a coupon plus a SavingStar offer, I will not be suggesting that you do so in the future.
BUT...I checked the Upromise FAQs and found the following:
From now on when I share deals...I will just offer you both options. As a reminder, you'll have to choose one or the other. Once you activate an offer on a particular site (Upromise or SavingStar) that is where you will get the cash back. I'll simply list the deal with best deal combination as I always do...so in this case it will be with the Upromise cash back since they allow you to combine offers.
Here's an example:
Angel Soft Bathroom Tissue, 4 double rolls, $2.87
-$0.55/1 Angel Soft Item printable
-$0.45/1 Angel Soft bathroom tissue printable
-$0.75/1 Angel Soft Bath Tissue or Sparkle Paper Target printable
-$0.45/1 Angel Soft bathroom tissue SavingStar Deposit or Upromise Deposit
As low as 77¢ with coupons and Upromise deposit, if your store doubles and accepts Target coupons ($1.12 without doubles).
I'd love to hear your opinions. Had you read the FAQ on their site?
